0:00
hello and welcome or welcome back to
0:03
another whole house declutter video
0:06
since becoming a stay-at-home mom and
0:09
Homemaker I strongly believe that one of
0:12
the secrets to a stress-free homemaking
0:15
life is decluttering and just getting
0:19
rid of a lot of the mess a lot of the
0:22
Clutter the distractions and things that
0:25
we don't necessarily need not only does
0:29
it make the house look a lot better it
0:32
makes it more efficient it helps you to
0:35
be able to clean better and it also gets
0:37
rid of some of the anxiety that just
0:40
comes with having a lot of overwhelm
0:44
that overwhelm can just come from having
0:47
to always pick up things having to clean
0:49
up things and some of the overwhelm just
0:52
comes from having too many choices to
0:55
make into a mini things to choose from
0:58
and just a ton of things so surrounding
1:01
you the more open your space is the less
1:04
things there are for you to tidy in the
1:06
last choices you have to make the less
1:12
I always know it's time for me to
1:15
declutter when I feel like I keep
1:17
cleaning up the home and then very
1:20
shortly after I'm done cleaning the
1:22
house is a mess again or there is more
1:25
stuff than I can actually clean and I
1:29
spend more time cleaning than actually
1:31
enjoying my home I also know it's time
1:35
to declutter when I find myself having
1:37
to buy more storage bins more storage
1:41
drawers when I can't find what I'm
1:43
looking for or when something does not
1:46
have a home I like to say if it doesn't
1:48
have a home then it does not belong so
1:51
when I find myself having so much stuff
1:53
that I don't even have anywhere to put
1:56
everything that I know some things have
1:59
so I took the initiative to just go
2:02
ahead and clean out and declutter my
2:04
entire home first I did the entire
2:07
downstairs and now I'm back and I'm
2:10
ready to do the upstairs if you did not
2:13
catch my last video where I tackled the
2:16
downstairs or the main floor of the home
2:19
I will be sure to link it down below for
2:21
you but today we're going to be doing my
2:23
husband and I's bedroom our
2:26
four-year-old son's bedroom and The
2:29
Homeschool Room which is also my office
2:31
I'm going to be doing the closet some of
2:34
our bookshelves as well as the
2:36
nightstands and just getting rid of some
2:38
things that we don't need anymore and
2:40
that's been tucked away in a few of the
2:43
corners of the home so inside of my
2:45
husband and I bedroom I decided to start
2:48
with the top of our closet which
2:50
basically just had a ton of blankets and
2:52
they pretty much have been there since I
2:54
put them there I never took them out so
2:56
they were pretty much like spare
2:57
blankets so now I'm just deciphering to
3:01
see which blankets I want to keep and
3:03
which ones I'm going to throw out these
3:05
two blankets here as you can see they
3:07
are very thick so I am gonna keep them
3:10
but I'm going to put them away so that
3:13
they're only being used in the winter
3:15
time so they'll end up being stored in
3:18
the garage in this very large canvas bag
3:22
that I actually purchased from shine
3:24
when I was placing a clothing order I
3:28
decided to leave out two sets of Summer
3:31
linen and I placed it inside of this
3:33
pink canvas bag on the corner and the
3:36
rest of the sheets I am throwing away
3:39
all except for one set that I will keep
3:41
just in case we ever have any overnight
3:44
guests so that's going to be tucked away
3:46
with the winter blankets so once I got
3:49
all of those blankets out you can see
3:52
how much space it took up now I have
3:54
more space and it looks a ton better I
3:57
also hung up some of my husband's summer
4:00
jackets because it still gets chilly
4:02
some nights and I color coordinated his
4:06
polos or his collared shirts that he
4:08
typically wear to work meetings or to
4:10
church and I did the same with my
4:13
clothing once I threw some away and took
4:17
some out this pal will go to the women's
4:20
now as you can see this closet already
4:24
looks a lot different and a lot more
4:27
organized and tidy and this I can
4:31
actually live with so at this point I
4:34
think I'm done with the closet and I am
4:37
moving on to the drawers specifically
4:40
the undergarment drawer and I didn't
4:42
like this organizer so I asked my
4:45
husband to cut some cedar wood pieces in
4:48
the garage so I could use them as
4:50
separators inside of the drawer and it
4:52
turned out to look just fine and it
4:57
and then I went ahead and started
4:58
decluttering our bookshelf that pretty
5:01
much just held a bunch of random things
5:04
inside of bins so I emptied out both the
5:08
bins and started organizing them to fit
5:10
them inside one small wooden box
5:13
everything else I threw away
5:16
once I finished up with the closet and
5:18
the Wardrobe this is how it was looking
5:20
I placed my purse bag and some of my
5:23
personal items back inside the closet I
5:26
put our summer linen inside our summer
5:30
jackets and some of my husband's dress
5:33
shoes and here is a clutter free
5:36
bookshelf and this is everything I threw
5:41
meanwhile in The Homeschool Room slash
5:44
my office I began decluttering and going
5:48
through some of the books on my
5:50
bookshelf just putting away some that I
5:53
can either throw away or the ones that
5:56
don't have too many highlights or marks
5:58
inside of them which you see me checking
6:00
for like in the pages I can just go
6:03
ahead and donate or take to the library
6:06
or you know to a shelter or something I
6:10
don't know but I'm just gonna go through
6:12
them and pack some away so that I can
6:14
give them to someone who may enjoy them
6:17
as much as I did many of these books I
6:20
read them once maybe twice some of them
6:23
even three times and I didn't read them
6:26
again and I don't plan on it I have my
6:29
books that I love so much that I will
6:31
never part ways with but then again
6:33
there are some of them that I am not
6:37
going to be keeping so yes I am just
6:40
working my way through that and here was
6:42
the final product of the books that I
6:45
did Keep On The Shelf and it looks a lot
6:48
better and of course clutter free I also
6:51
checked the drawers to see if anything
6:53
needs to be thrown away and went through
6:55
the closet and minimized it to just a
6:58
few boxes there were some large totes
7:01
across the floor but now there are just
7:03
a few boxes at the top of the Shelf with
7:06
my husband and I room done and The
7:08
Homeschool Room done now I can tackle my
7:11
son's room he has a lot of things that
7:14
are long overdue to be decluttered
7:16
starting with some of his winter coats
7:20
and jackets and some of his long sleeve
7:22
sweaters and of course a snow suit that
7:25
we're not using anymore so I'm just
7:28
taking out some of the things that have
7:29
to be put away not so much things that
7:33
have to be thrown away I went through
7:34
his wardrobe as well as ours and took
7:37
out a lot of things to throw away but
7:39
these are some of the things that I'm
7:41
not going to toss but I am going to put
7:43
away for a winter time he also has a ton
7:48
of stuffed animals so it's time for me
7:51
to pack Mickey and his friends away and
7:54
I'm just gonna leave out a few of his
7:56
favorites I have noticed that some of
7:58
these he pretty much just keep around
8:00
like it's decoration because I noticed
8:03
he doesn't even play with them he's not
8:04
a huge fan of stuffed animals except
8:07
just a few of his favorites so I packed
8:10
them away inside a large duffel bag so
8:13
that I don't know we'll keep them maybe
8:15
maybe not we'll see but for now they are
8:18
going going to go inside of the garage
8:21
so that already cleared a a whole side
8:24
of his closet basically so I replaced it
8:27
with like a little hanging organizer
8:30
that I took out of my room and then I
8:33
put some of his shoes on there
8:36
this is what the closet looked like I
8:39
did keep a diaper bag and a puzzle
8:42
organizer as well as an extra blanket at
8:45
the top of the closet inside of these
8:47
drawers he has some of his activities
8:50
like his Montessori puzzles and
8:52
activities any of his learning things
8:55
that we like to keep away he also has
8:57
his railroad tracks he has his bath toys
9:02
and his Express Yourself eggs inside of
9:07
here as well as some wooden trays for
9:10
his Montessori activities and then one
9:12
more spare extra drawer so this didn't
9:15
really need any tidying that I placed at
9:18
stuffed animals we decided to keep out
9:20
right by his bedside the last thing that
9:23
I really need to do inside of Noah's
9:26
room is to declutter and go through his
9:29
books on his bookshelf a lot of these
9:31
books have just accumulated over the
9:34
years I went through them about a year
9:37
ago like around the time we first moved
9:39
into this house but it's time for me to
9:42
go through them again so I'm just going
9:45
through seeing what we can donate or
9:47
what we can pack away for a future child
9:49
and what we can also throw away I'm
9:52
going through to see if any of the pages
9:54
are damaged so that if they are we can
9:57
throw them away and then those that are
9:59
not we can decide if we want to donate
10:01
by the way if you are still here and
10:04
still watching with me thank you so much
10:06
for being here I truly appreciate you
10:08
and if you are enjoying this video don't
10:10
forget to give it a thumbs up and of
10:13
course I would invite you to subscribe
10:15
to my channel for more content just like
10:18
this I share motherhood homemaking
10:20
homeschool organizing cleaning grocery
10:23
hauls and days of the life and of course
10:25
I would love to have you here but here
10:28
is what the final look of a Noah's
10:30
bookshelf looked like these are the
10:32
books that we're gonna throw away or
10:34
donate and here is what we're keeping
10:36
bank I love his I Believe I Can by Grace
10:39
Myers and then we also put a few books
10:42
that kind of just didn't fit well on the
10:44
bookshelf in the back and then on the
10:46
side he has some of his devotions some
10:49
of his read and learn like baby or
10:52
toddler kid friendly Bibles over there
10:55
on the side and then in the front we
10:58
organized all of his reading books by
11:01
like Dr Seuss Disney Sesame Street and
11:05
some of them we actually had double up
11:07
because they were gifted to us and you
11:11
know we couldn't throw away the ones
11:12
that were gifted but I think eventually
11:14
I will find another child to donate them
11:17
to but for now we're just keeping them
11:19
either way it you know looks a lot more
11:22
tidy and then Below on the bottom I put
11:25
his read-aloud books those are the ones
11:27
that you turn the page and you press the
11:30
buttons and they read aloud to you and
11:33
he likes those a lot we also have a pile
11:36
of books that I'm going to take inside
11:37
The Homeschool Room that are just
11:40
learning books and so we typically use
11:43
them in The Homeschool Room so I am
11:45
going to carry those inside there and
11:48
place them on his bookshelf that's
11:51
inside The Homeschool Room but that
11:53
pretty much sums up part two of the
11:56
whole house declutter I managed to do my
11:58
husband and I closet Noah's closet the
12:01
home school room closet as well as the
12:04
bookshelf inside of each room but I hope
12:07
that you enjoyed this video and if you
12:10
did don't forget to catch the next one
12:13
where I will be organizing my kitchen
12:15
pantry but that'll be all for today
12:17
thank you so much for being here until
12:20
next time happy hole making
