though your mornings often feel like a
0:02
busy rush a chaotic scramble of demands
0:06
and a neverending to-do list before the
0:08
sun has even fully risen I know truly
0:11
what that feels like because for years
0:13
my mornings felt overwhelming rushed and
0:16
chaotic leaving me depleted before the
0:18
day had even truly begun but what if I
0:21
told you there's another way a way to
0:23
infuse peace purpose and a sense of calm
0:25
into those precious early hours today I
0:29
want to invite you into my home and
0:31
share our family's morning routine a
0:33
routine that is deeply rooted in
0:34
biblical principles and a desire for
0:36
slow and intentional living it's not
0:39
about perfection but about connection
0:41
gratitude and setting a peaceful
0:43
foundation for the day
0:49
ahead so first let's talk about the why
0:54
why is a peaceful morning so crucial
0:56
especially for us as homemakers and
0:58
mothers for me it all goes back to my
1:00
faith the Bible speaks so much about
1:03
intentionality speaking wisdom and about
1:05
being the stewards of our time and
1:08
energy it's about being still and
1:10
knowing even amidst the busyiness when
1:13
we intentionally create space in our
1:15
mornings even just a little we're not
1:18
just checking off a to-do list we are
1:21
preparing our hearts and our minds we're
1:23
inviting God into our day from the very
1:25
beginning creating a calming ripple
1:28
effect that can extend throughout our
1:30
home impacting our children our spouses
1:33
and our own well-being too it's about
1:36
starting with a full cup rather than
1:38
consistently pouring from an empty one
1:46
when it comes to creating a morning
1:48
routine I truly do try to focus on
1:51
routine rather than scheduling a lot of
1:54
people create their morning routines
1:57
based on a schedule wake at 5 a.m do
1:59
this at 6:00 a.m cook at 7 a.m clean at
2:03
8:00 a.m that's not me instead I focus
2:07
more on on being able to do the same
2:09
things every morning no matter what time
2:12
it is no matter what time I wake
2:18
up while I do aim to wake up before my
2:21
children wake up so that I can have a
2:23
little bit of alone time with God
2:25
sometimes that's not realistic but more
2:28
so the goal is to when I wake up in the
2:31
morning say a daily prayer and do a
2:34
daily devotion sometimes that's five
2:36
minutes of reading my devotions or Bible
2:38
sometimes that's 30 minutes depending on
2:40
what the day has for me regardless it
2:43
sets the tone for the entire day it
2:45
allows me to pour out my heart pour out
2:47
my worries to God before they even begin
2:50
i typically know what type of things I
2:52
worry about throughout the day so if I
2:53
present those requests to the Lord
2:55
already it creates a sense of calm and
2:58
peace in my heart so that throughout the
3:00
day I know that I'm already covered
3:02
therefore I have his daily guidance and
3:04
I don't even need to worry to begin with
3:17
after I've said my prayer for the day
3:19
I've given thanks to the Lord i've
3:21
covered my family pray for my friends
3:24
our extended family as well i get myself
3:27
dressed for the day normally it's in
3:28
something comfortable a comfortable
3:31
linen or cloth cotton dress once I've
3:35
gotten myself dressed and clothed for
3:37
the day I do the same thing for my
3:40
children i get them dressed and I get
3:41
them clothed for the day and then we all
3:43
head down and have
3:49
breakfast i created myself a meal plan
3:53
that includes just a list of simple and
3:56
easy nutritious meals for both breakfast
3:59
lunch and dinner so I usually just go to
4:02
that list pick something for that day
4:04
and prepare it it's normally either
4:07
pancakes and fruit eggs and bacon grits
4:10
and sausage muffins or biscuits or
4:12
oatmeal and fruit it's literally just
4:15
the rotation of the same meals every
4:18
single day so I encourage you to do the
4:20
same if you're often not sure what to
4:23
eat and you struggle with meal planning
4:24
just create a list it doesn't have to be
4:26
a huge list maybe just 10 of your
4:29
favorite or your family's favorite go-to
4:31
items and every single day just pull out
4:33
that list and pick one thing to prepare
4:36
that also makes meal planning and
4:38
grocery shopping so much easier because
4:40
you have the same things that you're
4:42
looking at every single day you can even
4:43
sprinkle in a few like new recipes every
4:47
single week or every single month if
4:49
that's something that you enjoy doing
4:54
so once I've done my Bible readings and
4:56
devotions we're all clothed and dressed
4:58
and we're all fed for the day i like to
5:01
go out and get some fresh air i try to
5:03
do this every single day as long as
5:05
weather is permitting i normally either
5:07
take my cup of coffee or grab my baby
5:10
girl and we just walk around the yard
5:12
normally if my son sees me doing this
5:14
he'll come out and join me too he might
5:16
swing on his swing set for a few minutes
5:19
but just taking in that fresh air it's
5:21
really helpful to not get cabin fever
5:24
and we can just take in all of God's
5:26
beauty we take a look at the plants the
5:28
vegetables see if anything new has grown
5:30
see if there's anything that we need to
5:32
tend to this week and just getting that
5:35
fresh air and taking in the beauty
5:38
surrounding us definitely makes all the
5:40
difference in our day and again it just
5:42
makes me feel a little bit better as I
5:44
get my day started
5:54
once we've done that we spend a little
5:56
bit of just quiet and slow time so this
6:00
can be us either just sitting in the
6:02
room together while my children play or
6:05
read a book or practice walking with
6:07
baby girl it's never anything planned
6:11
it's just that time that I set aside for
6:14
God to truly move in our lives when we
6:17
always have something planned for every
6:19
single moment of our day we don't leave
6:21
a lot of room for God's blessing for him
6:24
to guide our day for him to shape the
6:26
day ahead for us so while I like to have
6:29
my morning routine all set and planned
6:31
out I think it's also very important for
6:34
us to leave a few moments in our day for
6:37
God to apply his daily blessings his
6:40
plan for our day as
6:43
well
6:58
[Music]
7:00
after I've done my Bible time spent some
7:04
time with the Lord said my prayer got
7:06
the kids up and dressed nourished my
7:08
family and had a little bit of
7:10
intentional time quiet time a time
7:14
outside then we embark on our day which
7:16
is homeschool cleaning and whatever else
7:19
the day has to offer but just those few
7:23
basic simple habits in my morning
7:26
routine set the rest of the day up for
7:28
peace it's very minimal it's very slow
7:31
and it's very intentional and for this
7:34
current season of life it's been working
7:36
for us
7:40
so how can you start creating your own
7:42
peaceful morning routine it doesn't have
7:45
to be drastic and it certainly doesn't
7:47
have to look exactly like mine here are
7:50
just a few tips to get you
7:53
started first is to start small don't
7:56
try to change everything at once choose
7:58
just one thing to implement consistently
8:01
for a week maybe it's waking up 15
8:03
minutes earlier or committing to 5
8:04
minutes of quiet time small winds build
8:09
momentum second is to identify your why
8:13
before you even set your alarm ask
8:14
yourself why do I want a peaceful
8:16
morning is it for spiritual grounding is
8:19
it for more patience with my kids a
8:21
sense of control knowing your why will
8:24
fuel your
8:26
motivation next to prepare the night
8:29
before this is a game changer because
8:31
laying out clothes packing lunches if
8:33
your children go to school cleaning up
8:35
your kitchen so that you can cook in the
8:37
morning the less you have to do in the
8:39
morning the more peace you will
8:41
experience last I encourage you to just
8:43
embrace grace and not perfection life
8:46
happens kids wake up early you oversleep
8:49
plans change try to be flexible when
8:52
your routine gets derailed extend
8:54
yourself grace because tomorrow is a new
8:57
day and a new opportunity to try again
9:00
remember that God offers us new mercies
9:02
every single
9:04
day creating a peaceful morning routine
9:06
is an ongoing journey a beautiful rhythm
9:09
of intentionality and faith it's about
9:11
building a foundation for a home that
9:13
nurtures reflects God's peace and allows
9:15
us to truly embrace low living amidst
9:17
the realities of motherhood and
9:19
homemaking i truly hope that this
9:21
glimpse into our morning has offered you
9:23
