hello and welcome my name is heaven and
0:02
I am a St home mother and wife I have a
0:05
four-year-old toddler boy named Noah and
0:08
I am currently 12 and a half weeks
0:10
pregnant so today I'm going to be
0:11
sharing my first trimester pregnancy
0:13
symptoms as well as the relief options
0:16
that I use to combat and help me with
0:19
all of those early pregnancy symptoms so
0:22
if you are new here I would love for you
0:24
to subscribe and stick around I create
0:26
homemaking and motherhood content that
0:28
is motivational realistic and relatable
0:31
I post once or twice per week and I
0:33
would absolutely love to have you guys
0:35
here so let's go ahead and dive into
0:37
today's pregnancy content so I'm just
0:40
going to go ahead and start from the
0:42
beginning and as I goow through this
0:43
video if you two are pregnant or you
0:46
have been pregnant in the past or you
0:48
are wanting to get pregnant or you are a
0:50
seasoned mama and you have done this
0:53
many times before or a couple or few
0:55
times before I would love for you to
0:56
comment down below and maybe share some
0:59
of your tips and symptoms with me as
1:02
well so that we can kind of compare and
1:03
help one another out as well as help
1:06
others out who come across this video so
1:09
I am going to be doing a full rundown
1:11
from 4 through 12 weeks I know some
1:15
people say that the second trimester
1:17
begins at 12 weeks some say 13 some say
1:20
14 I am not pretty particular with the
1:25
12 through 14 so I don't know as long as
1:30
as it's progressing and as long as baby
1:33
is healthy I don't care if second
1:35
trimester starts at 12 weeks or 14 weeks
1:38
so we are 12 and 1/2 Weeks currently I
1:41
didn't begin having any pregnancy
1:43
symptoms until I was 5 weeks pregnant I
1:46
did find out that I was pregnant three
1:48
weeks until my pregnancy so that was
1:51
about a week after ovulation and I did
1:54
take an early at home pregnancy test the
1:57
did the digital one and that one did
1:59
give me a positive about six days before
2:03
my expected menstrual cycle and then I
2:05
waited a couple of days and took another
2:08
test that was a little too less
2:11
sensitive just to you know get that
2:14
double confirmation and then after that
2:17
you get more and more confirmation as
2:20
your symptoms arrive and then as you
2:22
schedule your prenatal appointment and
2:24
get the blood work all of that stuff so
2:26
yes I'm going to give you guys the full
2:28
rundown so
2:30
at four weeks I didn't have symptoms
2:34
that I thought were pregnancy related
2:36
more so hormonal and that first symptom
2:39
was just breast tenderness that was the
2:42
very first symptom that I started
2:43
experiencing at about 4 and a half weeks
2:46
pregnant and then around 5 and 1 half
2:49
weeks pregnant is when the early nausea
2:51
began which is completely different than
2:53
my previous pregnancy with my son I
2:57
didn't really experience any nausea into
2:59
until
3:00
maybe 9 weeks I think I had a good week
3:04
where it was the worst this time was
3:05
completely different I did experience
3:08
some strong nausea from 5 and 1 half
3:11
weeks till about 11 weeks of pregnancy 5
3:16
and 1 half weeks it was very mou just
3:18
easy nausea but then by week six it
3:22
really started to ramp up and become
3:24
difficult and I experienced the nausea
3:27
the sensitive breast tender
3:30
as well as
3:31
indigestion and bloating and hunger
3:35
pains so all of those things really
3:37
started to kick in for me at about six
3:40
and a half weeks and some of the things
3:43
that helped me with that was making sure
3:47
that I stayed hydrated with like easy to
3:51
digest liquids so pretty much just water
3:55
as well as fiber drinks and liquid
3:58
IV and with the water I infused it with
4:03
lemon juice lemon drops or peppermint
4:07
leaves or peppermint drops things like
4:10
that because just the plain water was
4:13
not very good to me it just didn't taste
4:16
good so I had to add something that I
4:18
thought would actually help relieve the
4:20
nausea but that would also help me
4:22
actually want to stomach the water I did
4:24
not drink and eat at the same time I
4:27
quickly learned that that would make me
4:29
really full at once so instead I would
4:32
eat and then an hour later drink
4:35
something and then an hour and a half
4:36
later eat something small again eating
4:39
small meals frequently or just snagging
4:42
throughout the day is what helped me not
4:44
to become too full and too nauseous
4:47
because it was like that thing where if
4:49
you don't eat you're nauseous and then
4:52
after you eat you're nauseous that's
4:54
what it was for me for some I know that
4:56
it's even worse to where you can't
4:58
really hold any anything down I did not
5:01
experience any actual vomiting I just
5:05
was all the time nauseous and couldn't
5:08
really get it to go away it didn't ever
5:11
really completely go away until about 11
5:15
and 1/2 week but there were just little
5:19
things that helped me so the eating
5:20
small frequent meals was one making sure
5:23
that I stayed hydrated after I ate I
5:25
made sure that I sat up straight for a
5:28
while after eating even if I was sitting
5:30
in bed I still made sure that I sat
5:33
upright and didn't actually lay down
5:35
until a few hours after eating I was
5:38
probably able to lay down comfortably at
5:40
about 4 or 5 hours after eating um and
5:45
that was like at night or even during
5:47
the day I would just pretty much sleep
5:49
sitting upright or reclined slightly and
5:53
then for like the full digestion where I
5:57
felt like okay now my stomach is empty
6:00
that normally took about maybe 8 hours
6:04
so that's why the small Ms was very
6:07
important to not feel too full too
6:10
bloated and like tun washes another
6:13
thing that helped me with the nausea
6:15
were these nausea sweets by Pink Sor and
6:19
they are organic lenes with the sweet
6:22
peppermint flavor organic peppermint oil
6:25
and vitamin B6 vitamin B6 is known to
6:28
help Leaf nausea so this is the nausea
6:32
sweets by Pink stor that helped me
6:35
another one that um a lot of people like
6:38
is the Peggy Pop Drops these ones here
6:43
this is a really popular one and it's
6:46
just sour raspberry and sour lemon
6:49
natural drug free hard candies and this
6:51
one also contains vitamin B6 in it this
6:55
one contains 10 Mig of vitamin B6 and
6:59
then this one contains 15 Mig of vitamin
7:03
B6 an actual dosage of vitamin B6 that
7:07
my OB recommended was 25 Mig up to three
7:12
times per day I wasn't a fan of this one
7:14
only because they were really hard to
7:16
eat my tongue would become raw and it
7:18
would actually scratch my gums they just
7:20
were kind of rough to eat so the hard
7:23
ones did not work for me this is a hard
7:25
candy too but they were a lot more
7:27
smooth and they were smooth all the way
7:29
down until it dissolved so this was
7:31
easier for me and then that peppermint
7:34
flavor helped me with that aftertaste
7:37
that pretty much stuck around like up
7:41
until now it's like after I ate anything
7:43
I would just have like a weird
7:45
aftertaste peppermint helps with that as
7:47
well as with some of the congestion that
7:49
you experience as well another thing
7:51
that helped was the daily fiber
7:54
supplement it's like a powder fiber that
7:57
you just mix in with your water water as
8:00
well as a probiotic supplement and this
8:03
is the florister brand these are the
8:05
ones that helps me just one of these per
8:09
day those are all the things that I did
8:12
to help me with the nausea and I spent a
8:14
lot of time just laying down in bit not
8:17
moving too much because the motion
8:19
sickness can add to the nausea as well
8:22
so I didn't really get in the car and
8:24
drive anywhere unless I had to go to a
8:26
doctor's appointment or somewhere that
8:27
was important I probably only got in the
8:29
car and gone
8:31
somewhere maybe four times
8:34
throughout that 6 to 11 and A2 weeks
8:38
right around 7 and 1/2 weeks is when I
8:41
began to experience the pregnancy
8:43
exhaustion where I was sleepy all of the
8:45
time and um that lasted up until
8:51
indefinitely because I'm still currently
8:53
sleepy all of the time like all of the
8:56
time um even at 12 and 1/2 weeks so that
8:58
started and wrapped up around 7 and 1/2
9:00
weeks and I've been very sleepy ever
9:04
since but I had a really hard time
9:08
falling asleep so that is another thing
9:12
that i' had been dealing with was the
9:16
insomnia to help with insomnia you could
9:20
ask your doctor about these it was on my
9:22
approved list of things to take for
9:24
pregnancy I know some people don't like
9:25
taking anything for pregnancy but this
9:28
unison
9:30
helps for nausea and it also helps you
9:34
to be able to get to sleep because there
9:35
are sleep tabs but it does help with a
9:38
few different things actually it helps
9:40
with uncomfortable like stomach pains it
9:43
helps with the uncomfortable like
9:45
bloating it also help with congestion
9:49
nausea it helps you to fall asleep and
9:51
stay asleep throughout the night just a
9:54
half dosage was good enough for me but
9:56
this is 25 milligram so I believe that
10:00
the doctor said you could take a whole
10:01
one but I just did have to see if that
10:03
would work to start and that did so some
10:06
nights when I just really really
10:08
couldn't sleep at all then this Unison
10:11
is what helped me to sleep sometimes
10:14
took half of vitamin B6 only once in the
10:18
morning and so interchanging those kind
10:20
of helped me to just have a little more
10:23
Comfort throughout the days another one
10:26
is um draman draman was the first
10:30
medication that I took for my pregnancy
10:34
symptoms that actually helped I took
10:37
drama in one day and I just I felt great
10:40
for the first time for like a full day
10:42
and I took that right
10:44
around 9 weeks pregnant 9 weeks is
10:48
typically where the um HCG hormones Peak
10:53
I think mine's actually Peak right
10:55
around early 8 to 9 weeks now that's
10:59
when my HCG levels were really really
11:02
high before they started to drop down
11:04
and even out a little bit and so I did
11:07
take a drum in because I knew I would be
11:09
driving in the car for a little while
11:10
and I didn't take the one that was just
11:13
Ginger the ginger ones are natural and
11:15
you can take those as well but you just
11:17
want to ask your OB about any other type
11:21
of drama because they have different
11:23
brands and versions of it the one that I
11:25
took was not the ginger one it was one
11:27
that was approved
11:29
um it was like a 12-hour relief one that
11:32
I normally take when we're traveling on
11:34
airplanes and things like that and that
11:36
one I felt so good when I took that but
11:40
um it's a stronger dosage than like the
11:42
B6 and the unism and anything else so I
11:45
just didn't take it anymore even though
11:48
it really did give me some relief so if
11:49
it's really bad for you you can
11:51
definitely ask your OB about that one
11:54
eight through nine and a half were the
11:57
worst weeks for me throughout the entire
12:01
first trimester and then week 10 maybe
12:05
10 and a half is when things start to
12:07
day by day slowly get better 11 and 1/2
12:11
Weeks it was really getting better and
12:13
then now that I'm 12 and a half weeks I
12:16
mostly don't deal with a nausea unless I
12:18
eat something that doesn't sit well with
12:20
my stomach and that's normally like hot
12:22
coffee anything hot gives me heartburn
12:26
and then eating big meals still would
12:30
give me that indigestion and bloating
12:33
but not mix with the nausea so it
12:35
definitely takes the edge off of it and
12:37
it's really not as bad the breast
12:40
tenderness began to get a little bit
12:44
better around 10 and 1 half weeks as
12:47
well it's still sticking around but not
12:51
as bad and I think that also has to do
12:54
with those hormone levels the HCG levels
12:57
they're higher than I believe believe
12:59
that the breast tenderness is worse but
13:01
as it drops and evens out a little bit
13:03
that gets better as well another symptom
13:06
that I have experienced is dry skin I
13:09
did experience this with my last
13:10
pregnancy as well and by dry I mean
13:13
really really dry my ha my lips my face
13:16
and my whole body but really my back has
13:21
been extremely extremely dry lotion just
13:25
doesn't do it for me and almost feels
13:30
like my back is stretching something
13:33
that I have to look up like does your
13:36
back stretch like wider when you're
13:39
pregnant you know the answer to that
13:41
comment below and let me know because
13:44
that's how it feels you know how you can
13:45
feel like your stomach is kind of dry
13:47
you can feel it when it's stretching
13:49
when you're pregnant and so you want to
13:50
make sure you keep it moisturized but my
13:52
fat it felt like that too because not
13:54
only has it been dry but it's been kind
13:56
of itchy so to help with that I've been
13:58
using body body butter instead of lotion
14:00
because the body butter it lasts longer
14:03
and it melts into the skin and into the
14:05
pores and the one that I've been using
14:07
is a mango orange and tangerine one this
14:10
one is completely natural and all it
14:12
contains is shea butter coconut oil and
14:16
then mango orange Tangerine essential
14:19
oils with some vitamin E and I actually
14:22
make these myself I sell them on my
14:24
website bu organics.com and they really
14:28
just came in perfect for me this one as
14:31
soon as I got out the shower helped me
14:34
to deal with the dry skin and congestion
14:37
which you can probably still hear
14:39
congestion has been at an alltime high
14:42
and I already had pretty bad congestion
14:44
just because I also have really bad
14:46
allergies I'm allergic to cat dog and
14:49
dust might as well as seasonal allergies
14:51
and I have a dog the things to help me
14:53
with the congestion are I use my warm
14:56
mist humidifier in the room to make the
14:59
moisture a little bit warm I can Infuse
15:02
a few drops of peppermint and Eucalyptus
15:06
essential oil inside of that so that the
15:08
room has that peppermint and eucalyptus
15:11
smell and scent to also work with the
15:14
congestion and then the other thing is
15:16
nasal strips I just have the equate
15:19
brand but there's another one called
15:22
Breathe Right a little bit more
15:24
expensive I don't know if they work any
15:27
better but these work as well sometimes
15:30
and then the saline nasal spray as well
15:34
those are all natural options for
15:37
congestion as well as like the nasal
15:40
rits like with the water and saine
15:44
that's another one that helps naturally
15:46
because there aren't a lot of
15:48
decongestants that have been deemed safe
15:51
psea fed is one but they do not sell the
15:53
pseudo fed that's not that does not
15:56
contain decongestion in in it in a lot
15:59
of the stores so it has to be a
16:02
particular brand of psea Fett and I
16:05
think they have it at like pharmacy
16:07
stores like CVS Pharmacy maybe Walgreens
16:10
but my Walmart didn't have it Myer
16:13
Target they didn't have that so the
16:14
decongestion is pretty tricky the same
16:17
with musex the rest of them are deemed
16:20
unsafe
16:22
tylena um only Tylenol Cold and Sinus
16:26
but not Tylenol Cold and glue not
16:29
Tylenol Sinus Max and again with the
16:33
Tylenol Cold and Sinus it's really hard
16:36
to find them so you have to be very
16:38
careful with the decongestion first
16:41
trimester it's safe to stick with the
16:42
natural things and then maybe later on
16:44
as pregnancy progresses you can try some
16:47
of those ones that are deemed safe those
16:49
particular ones not all of them just
16:52
particular ones so of course with any
16:54
medication check with your doctor your
16:56
OB to make sure that it is safe as well
16:59
as anything that you are eating and
17:01
drinking like herbal teas um Seafood you
17:05
know all of that type of stuff as far as
17:07
eating I had a lot of food diversions
17:10
this time around another thing that I
17:11
didn't really experience with Noah I had
17:14
a couple of things that I didn't like
17:16
the smell of but it really wasn't a lot
17:18
this time around there were so many
17:21
smells that just turned my nose one of
17:25
them was lavender which I love lavender
17:27
so much and I know nor use this butter
17:29
with in the lavender scent as well as
17:32
lavender essential oil inside of my
17:34
humidifier the smell of lavender I have
17:37
painted it's been absolutely atrocious
17:39
to me so Citrus and peppermint has been
17:43
the scents that I could actually deal
17:44
with his stomach anything sweet like
17:47
super sweet smelling was a no it had to
17:50
have like a Tangy scent Citrus scent for
17:52
me to not have an aversion to it or just
17:56
completely unscented so I switched to to
17:58
unscented hand soap unscented dish soap
18:01
unscented body wash um all the unscented
18:06
or peppermint coffee was a huge no for
18:10
me and normally I'm addicted to coffee
18:12
but it wasn't hard for me to stop
18:14
drinking coffee which I think you can
18:16
have about 6 to 8 ounces per day of
18:19
coffee safely but it was not difficult
18:23
for me to not drink any coffee at all
18:25
because the scent of it alone was I
18:29
probably the one that I hated the most
18:31
even more than lavender was the smell of
18:33
coffee it made me so nauseous and so
18:36
sick whenever like our trash bin was
18:39
open like the drawer I would have to
18:41
make sure it was completely closed I
18:42
didn't like the sense of just the trash
18:44
bag like the scented trash bags didn't
18:46
like the scent of that it probably was
18:48
lavender didn't like the scent of our
18:51
refrigerator we could clean it out but
18:54
just any type of smell from that fridge
18:56
like any type of food or just the
18:58
mixture of all the foods together was
19:01
really terrible for me so fridge needed
19:03
to be closed and whenever I would open
19:05
the fridge you guys I would literally
19:07
just hold my breath Hur up and get what
19:08
I need and close the fridge back there
19:10
were just so many things smells that
19:14
just really turned me off
19:18
cooking a lot of the s from cooking was
19:21
a no so I really didn't cook anything
19:25
throughout the first
19:26
trimester some times I cooked and that
19:29
might have been one time per week and
19:31
then I cooked for Thanksgiving Christmas
19:35
and New Year and that was really really
19:37
hard for me outside of that my husband
19:39
did majority of the cooking and he also
19:42
did majority of the cleaning because I
19:43
was always too nauseous to clean too
19:46
sleepy to clean or too uncomfortable or
19:48
too unmotivated to clean so lack of
19:50
motivation was definitely an early
19:53
trimester thing as well as the
19:55
exhaustion in nausea and indigestion and
19:58
dry skin so just a multitude of symptoms
20:02
um constipation is another early
20:05
pregnancy symptom that most pregnant
20:08
women experience as well um and then
20:11
bloating so even though you don't
20:14
typically well I didn't and I didn't
20:18
with my last pregnancy and a lot of
20:19
women don't typically have like an
20:21
actual bump yet because the uterus is
20:24
still pretty small the baby is still
20:26
really tiny so you don't really develop
20:29
a pregnancy bump but that bloating would
20:32
make you look like you're like four or
20:34
five months pregnant so definitely the
20:36
bloating has been something as well so
20:40
things that I was able to stomach and
20:42
eat was anything blend so for instance
20:45
rice with not a lot of seasoning no
20:49
gravy no sauce no butter no nothing just
20:53
Bland rice as well as Bland noodles with
20:57
no sauce on them
20:58
toast cold sandwiches but unfortunately
21:02
they say you have to warm up the meat I
21:04
did it didn't like it as much but it was
21:07
okay I was able to stomach it a little
21:09
better because just like the blend like
21:11
just the bread with just like some
21:13
turkey me on it wasn't too bad for me
21:16
and sometimes I would add the mustard to
21:18
make it a little more acidic fruit was
21:21
really good popsicles were really good
21:24
bananas were good and sour apples were
21:27
good even yellow apples were good meat
21:31
probably like
21:34
blend beef or like chicken mixed in with
21:38
rice so like chicken breast shredded
21:41
with some rice was okay ground beef
21:44
mixed with like
21:46
noodles was another thing but without
21:49
the spaghetti sauce just all the Bland
21:52
things were were working for me so not a
21:56
lot of flavor and not a lot lot of sauce
21:59
my taste Wass pretty much changed every
22:01
single day so I could be craving
22:03
something one day and then the next day
22:05
I hate it don't want it anymore 11 and
22:08
1/2 weeks when the nausea started to die
22:10
down a little bit is when I went back to
22:12
wanting healthy things but before that I
22:15
didn't really care as long as it wasn't
22:18
bad like for the baby if it wasn't the
22:23
healthiest choice for instant fried food
22:26
then if I could submic it then I just
22:29
ate it because it was just the whole
22:32
wanting to eat cuz just wanting to eat
22:34
was already hard finding something that
22:36
you actually wanted to eat was difficult
22:39
normally prefer white meat or red meat
22:42
but red meat I don't know maybe it's the
22:46
protein is what I've been wanting more
22:49
which suck because it's a lot harder to
22:51
digest going forward I'm going to limit
22:54
the red meats because I just want
22:57
something easier to digest so now I'm
22:59
more into like grilled chicken with rice
23:02
and vegetables you know things like that
23:05
still taking it one day at a time and
23:06
week by week but that pretty much sums
23:11
up all of my first
23:13
trimester pregnancy symptoms that I
23:15
experienced from weeks 4 through 12 as
23:18
well as the things that helped me to
23:21
find relief I was blessed to been able
23:25
to have my husband to help me with a lot
23:27
of the clean and a lot of um the cooking
23:31
and things like that so for my M who do
23:34
have to still do those things or even
23:36
get up and go to work every single day
23:38
if you have some tips for those moms
23:41
like if you've been there before please
23:43
leave them down below so that a pregnant
23:45
mama who is watching this video who
23:48
could use some tips in that area um
23:51
leave them down below because that's one
23:54
of the things that I don't exactly have
23:56
a whole lot of information on I know
23:59
they have stronger medicine that you can
24:00
take that you can get prescribed from
24:02
your doctor in case you just have to
24:05
work I'm definitely looking forward to
24:07
some second trimester relief in which
24:10
I'm hoping to do a little bit of
24:12
traveling get the nursery
24:16
together and do a lot of decluttering
24:21
and getting rid of a lot of things that
24:23
we either don't use or don't love that's
24:25
my R going forward if I don't love it
24:28
and I don't use it I'm just going to
24:29
throw it away or donate it so that's
24:31
been the goal these days and now that
24:34
we're going to be bringing in a lot more
24:36
clothes a lot more toys a lot more
24:39
furniture and a whole another person
24:41
going to share you know go on forward
24:44
pregnancy updates so I can try my stir
24:47
Recaps and anything that have been
24:49
helping me um another thing that I
24:52
forgot to mention is the pregnancy
24:55
pillow I know a lot of people don't try
24:57
the pregnancy pillow until like later
24:59
than the when they are a little bit
25:01
bigger but I found that it helped me
25:04
even in the first triester like with the
25:06
blo because sometime my stomach would
25:08
feel so full and heavy so buying a small
25:11
wedge pillow and I'm going to link the
25:14
one that I purchased down below I did
25:16
get the mom cozy pregnancy pillow as
25:18
well as the mom cozy back and stomach
25:22
support and so it's a wedge pillow that
25:24
you can kind of wedge up under your
25:26
stomach and then one of which like
25:28
behind your back and it just holds your
25:32
belly so that your body can lay
25:34
completely flat and not you know uneven
25:37
and that helped with the nausea as well
25:39
as the indigestion as well so I say
25:42
invest in it earlier as well as a
25:44
pregnancy belt and the belt just
25:47
supports up underneath your stomach and
25:50
it helps with a lot of that pressure
25:53
that you feel in the pelvic area um even
25:57
if it's it's like from the bloating or
26:01
from um having a full bladder or
26:05
hormonal whatever you know the
26:08
tenderness and things like that the belt
26:10
actually helps ha with that so these are
26:13
things that grow with you as you go
26:16
through your pregnancy is not just meant
26:18
to be for second trimester trimester
26:22
they are good for different reasons
26:24
throughout their pregnancy at different
26:26
times as you progress so I'm going to
26:29
link everything that I've mentioned in
26:31
this video that has helped me down below
26:33
in the description box and then I'm
26:35
going to get around to is putting it
26:37
into a blog post as well so if you
26:39
follow the blog at theom resource.com
26:43
you'll be able to find it on there as
26:46
well once I get that updated too um if
26:50
you haven't subscribed to the blog and
26:52
you would like to do so do that and you
26:55
will get a newsletter as I update the
26:58
information and things like that but
27:00
that sums up my first trimester
27:03
pregnancy symptoms and I hope that you
27:06
found something to be helpful in this
27:09
video if you did don't forget to give it
27:11
a thumbs up and of course I would love
27:14
for you to subscribe to my channel for
27:16

27:18
