Hey friends, welcome to Motherhood and
0:02
Homemaking, where faith meets everyday.
0:04
Motherhood and home is our favorite
0:06
place to be. Today I'm going to be
0:08
sharing a mom life clean with me and
0:10
catch up. And because this is the mom
0:13
life cleaning and all in between, you
0:16
are also probably going to be hearing my
0:18
daughter in the background because she's
0:19
here with me while I'm recording this
0:21
here voice over. But as you can see, the
0:23
house is a complete mess and I have a
0:25
lot of work to do here. So, starting
0:27
here inside of the living room because I
0:29
always love to get a quick win right out
0:32
of the gate. So, my family room is
0:34
normally the one that does it for me
0:36
because it's like the fastest for me to
0:39
tidy up and I can get it done quickly
0:41
and then have something accomplished and
0:42
move on to the next thing. So, as we are
0:46
preparing and prepping for a move for
0:49
our family, we are going to be trying to
0:53
get a lot of things tidied and put away.
0:57
We have let this mess occur over a
1:00
course of a few different days because
1:02
we had a lot of things going on for us
1:04
this past week. My mother-in-law
1:07
actually stayed with us a few days, so
1:09
we just took her home. The kids have
1:12
been playing and we were just enjoying
1:14
my mom-in-law being over to the house
1:16
and just a few other things that we had
1:18
to do as we prepare for our upcoming
1:21
move. So now I'm just trying to get
1:22
everything put back in its place. The
1:24
family room really isn't the worst. I
1:26
just had to put away like the kids
1:28
Costco boxes. They love to play in those
1:31
for some reason. So I left that up for
1:33
them to play in for a little while. But
1:35
then we also had to put away some of the
1:38
kids toys. So, one of my favorite hacks
1:40
is just keeping baskets around the home.
1:43
That way, we can always just put the
1:46
baskets, you know, where a lot of the
1:48
mess usually occurs. And then that way
1:51
when it's time to clean or tidy, I can
1:53
just put all of the toys inside of the
1:55
baskets and then, you know, take the
1:57
baskets up and put everything where they
2:00
belong. The family room is looking
2:02
pretty okay for now. So, I'm just going
2:04
to go ahead and move on to the kitchen.
2:06
There is a lot of mess in the kitchen as
2:08
well. A lot of this stuff is actually
2:09
going to get thrown away in just a
2:12
couple of days, which you guys will see
2:14
in my next upcoming video. You're going
2:17
to see us like getting everything thrown
2:19
out and everything as we prepare to
2:21
leave just for a little while. So, for
2:24
now, I'm just getting rid of all of this
2:26
clutter. I don't know why this here
2:29
countertop just gets cluttered every
2:32
every single day. I try to stay on top
2:34
of it, but I don't know. It's just a
2:36
place where so much stuff gathers, but
2:38
that is okay. We spend a lot of time
2:40
here in our kitchen. So, putting
2:43
everything back where it belongs is
2:45
normally the part that takes up the most
2:48
time. Usually, once I can get all of
2:50
that stuff put away, everything else is
2:52
just smooth selling. I don't know if
2:54
that's just me. What is the part that
2:56
takes you the longest when it comes to
2:57
cleaning your home? For me, it's
2:59
definitely putting everything back into
3:00
its place. And so I will tell you that
3:03
this is how I know it is time to
3:05
declutter. If it often takes you a long
3:07
time to just clear off the counters with
3:09
everything you put away and it's not
3:11
like because of you had like a large
3:14
party or because you let things go
3:16
unmanaged for, you know, days on end.
3:19
Then as a Vian say you really do have to
3:21
do some decluttering. I recognize that
3:23
because it's taking me so long to get
3:25
everything put away. It's probably
3:26
because I have way too much stuff out.
3:29
Even when it comes to toys, if my
3:31
children have so many toys that it takes
3:33
me a long time to put away, then I know
3:36
I need to take out less toys for them to
3:39
play with because either they're getting
3:41
really bored with the toys that they
3:43
currently are playing with so quickly
3:45
that they then have to go to another toy
3:47
and pull that out to play with as well,
3:50
or they're throwing all the toys out to
3:51
get to the toy that they actually want
3:53
to play with. or there's so many toys
3:57
that they themselves cannot keep up and
3:59
manage to clean it up themselves and
4:01
then it means I have to go behind them
4:03
and clean it up and then it's taking me
4:04
a while to clean it up as well. In terms
4:06
of toys, I always feel like just less is
4:09
more. I personally think it just makes
4:12
for a better quality of play, but also
4:15
it helps them to learn like when you are
4:17
able to manage this amount of toys as
4:20
far as keeping up with them, keeping
4:22
them tidy, cleaning them up, and putting
4:24
them away, then we'll let you play with
4:26
another toy or get another toy out of
4:28
rotation. It teaches your children to
4:30
only have as much as they can manage,
4:32
which is something that we as adults and
4:35
as moms and homemakers often have to
4:38
find ourselves relearning time and time
4:40
again as well. And we are often having
4:42
to declutter our home over and over
4:45
again. I know I do because I often
4:48
forget, you know, only take on as much
4:50
as you can manage and only have as much
4:53
as you can take on at, you know, one
4:56
time. So, this is something that I'm
4:58
hoping to teach my children early so
5:00
that they don't have to feel like they
5:02
are constantly relearning this. I know
5:04
that it's just something that is a part
5:06
of life. Decluttering is not a thing
5:08
that you just do overnight and it just
5:10
sticks. It's something that you have to
5:12
continuously do time and time again,
5:14
monthly, and for some even weekly and
5:17
then deep decluttering even like
5:19
seasonally, like every 3 months or so.
5:22
Whenever I start to notice how long it's
5:25
taking me to tidy, I would much rather
5:27
just stop tidying all together and
5:30
minimize. Like just go ahead and start
5:32
decluttering some things so that going
5:34
forward it'll be so much so much easier
5:37
for me to clean up the home. And so one
5:40
thing that I recently did before doing
5:42
this clean with me is pulled out my
5:45
stove, my fridge. I shared that in my
5:47
last video. So, if you did not get a
5:49
chance to see that and you need some
5:50
more cleaning motivation, I know that
5:52
this one is only 15 minutes long, but I
5:55
recently posted a 45 minute long
5:58
cleaning video of me deep cleaning. I
6:00
was getting behind like the appliances,
6:02
behind the sofas, the tables, getting
6:04
inside the closets, getting behind the
6:06
stove, the fridge. All of that deep
6:09
cleaning made it easier for me to clean.
6:11
Such as today where I don't have to do
6:14
all of that. I can just clean like
6:16
surface level cleaning on top of the
6:18
countertops and what I can see and all
6:21
of that. So, if you are in a season of
6:23
life where you can go ahead and just do
6:25
all of that at once because there was
6:27
once a time when I was and I thoroughly
6:29
enjoyed doing that every two weeks or
6:32
so, just doing a fullon deep clean. I
6:34
used to do it every single Sunday that
6:36
switched to every two weeks. And now I
6:39
just have to split it up. Like I can't
6:40
do a deep clean and a declutter and a
6:42
clean all at once. And for me, there are
6:44
two different things. I have to do the
6:47
deep cleaning, like getting things that
6:48
I can't see on one day, and then another
6:50
day, I have to do all of the
6:52
decluttering, getting rid of all of the
6:54
visual clutter and getting rid of just
6:56
all the stuff. And then on a separate
6:58
day, do the actual cleaning. And even
7:00
for me, cleaning and sanitizing are two
7:03
different things when it comes to
7:04
cleaning. Like, I might wash down my
7:06
appliances with soap and water. And then
7:09
sanitizing, I'll probably go in with a
7:12
streakfree stainless steel appliance
7:15
cleaner and wipe down the appliances
7:19
again. And then I might disinfect things
7:21
versus just cleaning them. So yeah, it's
7:23
all a lot. I know it sounds absolutely
7:26
insane to think that much about
7:28
cleaning, but as a homemaker, that's
7:31
where my mind is sometimes. And then as
7:34
a mom, yeah, that's why I constantly,
7:37
you know, feel like I have to like split
7:39
things up. And that's also part of the
7:40
reason why I often get a lot of clutter
7:42
because, you know, there's a lot of
7:43
people here in our home. So yeah, that
7:45
is me encouraging you to go ahead and
7:48
look around your home and see if you
7:50
have something to declutter. And if you
7:51
do, go ahead and, you know, make your
7:53
life a little bit easier, get it done. I
7:55
have a whole playlist full of
7:58
decluttering tips, full of decluttering
8:00
content videos, sit down, all of the
8:03
things. So, if your home needs to be
8:05
decluttered, just trust me on this one.
8:07
Go ahead, go for it. Try it out. I
8:09
really think that, you know, you'll love
8:11
it. Even if you think like it can't
8:14
declutter anymore, just do a little walk
8:16
through. I don't know, maybe you'll be
8:18
commenting on the bottom of this video
8:19
like, "Girl, you were right. I needed to
8:21
declutter." And girl, you were right. It
8:23
made my life a lot easier. So, yeah. go
8:25
ahead and go for it. And let me tell
8:26
you, I'm going to be doing the exact
8:28
same thing. But as mentioned, we are
8:32
getting ready to take a little trip. And
8:35
so my goal is to once we get to our
8:39
vacation home to just minimize as much
8:42
as I can and just have a minimal like
8:45
home decor so that hopefully things
8:47
won't get too too bad. And so yeah, I'm
8:49
pretty sure that all throughout you guys
8:51
have been hearing my daughter here with
8:53
me. She is one year old and she is busy,
8:58
but she's also very, very much loving my
9:01
attention these days and wanting to be
9:03
right up under me. And I am trying to
9:04
snuggle her and make the most of this
9:07
hair time because I know that it is
9:08
short and that she's going to be big
9:11
very, very soon. So, if you hear her on
9:13
the background, just know that I'm just
9:15
a mama and I'm just embracing and loving
9:17
all of these cuddles, but also trying to
9:19
get some work done here right along with
9:22
it. So, if you're in a season of
9:24
motherhood, give this video a thumbs up.
9:26
Let me know how that's going for you.
9:28
What season of motherhood are you in? I
9:30
currently have a six-year-old and a
9:33
one-year-old. And so, my time and my
9:35
attention is different both ways. I have
9:37
to homeschool my six-year-old during the
9:39
week, and then I also have, you know,
9:41
baby girl who's keeping me busy and
9:43
keeping me on my feet as well. But I do
9:45
have a wonderful husband, super, super
9:47
helpful. But yeah, right now he's in the
9:50
shower, so that would be the reason why
9:54
she's here with me and we're getting
9:55
some work done together. We are pretty
9:58
much almost done here in the kitchen.
10:00
I'm just scrubbing down the sink because
10:02
the sink gets really really like we have
10:05
um whale water and it can be like a
10:08
little bit of rusty. So like we get like
10:10
these iron streaks and everything
10:12
especially where we have white
10:15
appliances. So like the sinks, the
10:17
toilets, things like that. We often have
10:19
to go in with iron out. And the
10:21
scrubbing that I'm doing is literally
10:23
barely just touching the surface. It's
10:26
hard to keep like wipe things clean with
10:28
well water that has iron and minerals in
10:31
it. So just doing the best that I can,
10:33
but I often feel like I have to give
10:34
that disclaimer so that you guys don't
10:36
be like, "Oh my goodness, why is her
10:37
sink so dirty?" I promise it's not. It's
10:39
just that is just well water life. So I
10:43
don't know. Let me know if you know
10:44
anything about that. But as you guys
10:46
could see, it really didn't take a ton
10:48
of time for me to get everything loaded
10:50
inside of the dishwasher. So, yeah, half
10:52
of this clean with me was me tidying the
10:55
kids toys and getting everything and all
10:59
of the stuff, all of the clutter off of
11:02
the countertops. So, I'm sure you all
11:04
can imagine how much of a difference me
11:07
going through and decluttering this home
11:09
would make in terms of my cleaning. I
11:12
don't know about you, but there are a
11:13
lot of fun things that I could be doing
11:15
with my time. That doesn't mean me
11:17
cleaning all day long. And I do love
11:19
tidying and keeping my home up. I really
11:21
do. I used to not like it, but I prayed
11:24
so much about it. And I spent some time
11:27
reflecting on it with the Lord. And I
11:29
asked him to really just give me a love
11:32
for serving right here in my home. There
11:35
are a lot of places in the world that we
11:37
can serve. We can serve in the
11:39
community. we can serve, you know, at
11:41
like a desk job, a corporate job. You
11:44
know, there are a lot of, you know,
11:46
people in service in the world. And I'm
11:49
just thankful and grateful that I get to
11:51
serve here in my home and for my
11:54
children and for my husband, the people
11:56
that I love so much. And the thought of,
11:59
you know, being able to look at it that
12:01
way makes all the difference. So, moving
12:06
on here to sweeping the floor. I'm using
12:10
my swapped broom. I think I only told
12:12
you guys about this broom maybe once or
12:14
twice, but I'm going to tell you guys
12:15
about it again. And I'm gonna link it
12:17
down below because let me tell you guys,
12:19
I highly recommend highly that you get
12:22
this broom because I want you all to try
12:24
it out and then tell me like I love this
12:27
broom. I would say just tell me what you
12:28
think about it, but I'm almost 100% sure
12:30
you're going to tell me that you love
12:31
this broom. It's the swapped broom and
12:35
it's a wooden very good durable broom.
12:38
You can swap out the heads with like a
12:40
mop head with like a microfiber
12:44
um like dust head. Like you can use it
12:47
for an outdoor broom. You can do so many
12:50
different configurations with it. But
12:52
it's really just a good and sturdy
12:54
broom. We have had this broom for three
12:56
years now. It also has a matching dust
12:59
pan. I love it. I never want to use any
13:01
other broom. It just it does not feel
13:03
the same, especially after using it for
13:05
three years. But the swapped broom is
13:08
very, in my opinion, inexpensive and I
13:10
highly recommend that you give it a try.
13:13
And then moving on to the mopping, I'm
13:16
just using my Bissell Cross, I think
13:18
it's called cross spin mop. It's really
13:21
good for getting like up against the
13:23
edges of the counters and everything,
13:26
giving it a good scrip without me having
13:28
to get down on my hands and knees. So,
13:30
just wanted to make sure I got all of
13:32
that. It doesn't do corners well, but it
13:34
does edges very well. And it's also
13:36
really good for a good buff and clean.
13:39
It has two different spinning mop heads.
13:41
One of them for cleaning, one of them
13:43
for buffing. And you just refill it with
13:46
like, you know, the cleaning solution,
13:47
water, or any type of cleaning solution
13:49
of your choice. It's really, really good
13:51
for a quick like goto, not for deep
13:54
cleaning, but for a quick mop. So, that
13:57
is what I'm doing. Just a quick mop. And
14:01
then I am going to have other things
14:04
around the house that I want to get
14:06
done. But I did want to share this
14:08
cleaning motivation for you. So I hope
14:11
that you guys maybe found something to
14:13
clean alongside with me. Maybe you were
14:15
just folding some laundry or making up
14:17
your bed, cleaning up around your
14:19
kitchen as well. Let me know down below
14:21
in the comments below and say hello. I
14:23
feel like it's been a while since I have
14:25
heard from you guys. It's been a little
14:26
minute since I posted a video, but I
14:28
love hearing from you guys. I hope that
14:31
you guys enjoyed this clean with me
14:32
video and that it gave you some cleaning
14:34
motivation. If you did, I hope that you
14:36
would give it a thumbs up. It really
14:38
does help the channel to grow and lets
14:39
me know what type of content resonates
14:41
with you guys. I enjoyed creating this
14:43
video for you guys and I thank you guys
14:45
so much for watching. But that's going
14:47
to be all for today and I will see you
14:49
guys in the next one with some more
14:51
homemaking and motherhood motivation and
14:54
inspiration. Again, thank you guys so
14:56
much for watching this video and I will
14:57
see you guys in the next one. Happy
