If you feel like your home is always
0:01
messy and it's making you feel anxious,
0:04
over stimulated, or even angry, I get
0:06
it. And I want to tell you something
0:09
that changed everything for me. And it
0:11
wasn't a better cleaning routine. It
0:14
wasn't a new schedule. It wasn't a
0:16
planner. It was decluttering.
0:19
Decluttering changed my life. And it
0:21
made me calm again. And not because my
0:23
home became perfect, but because my home
0:25
became lighter. And today I'm going to
0:28
share exactly what I decluttered first,
0:31
why it worked, and how you can start
0:33
today in a way that actually sticks. By
0:36
the end of this video, you are going to
0:38
have the motivation and the simple steps
0:40
you need to start creating a peaceful
0:43
home, even if you feel completely
0:45
overwhelmed right now. I didn't start
0:48
decluttering because it was trendy. I
0:51
started decluttering because I
0:52
absolutely needed it. I needed the
0:55
change and my home really needed to
0:59
breathe again. I remember just looking
1:01
around my home one day and I just felt
1:04
like everything was just too much. Like
1:07
I just couldn't get ahead. There were
1:10
toys everywhere. Laundry piles, counters
1:13
covered, drawers stuffed, closets full,
1:17
cabinets overflowing.
1:19
And the worst part though was the mental
1:22
weight because every pal was something
1:26
unfinished. Every mess was something
1:29
waiting on me. And even when I sat down,
1:32
my mind just never rested. And I
1:35
remember praying and just saying, "God,
1:38
I need help. I need peace and I do not
1:41
know how to get ahead." And that prayer
1:44
was the beginning of everything
1:47
changing. Now, decluttering is not
1:50
cleaning. And this is what I didn't
1:51
understand at first. Cleaning and
1:54
decluttering are not the same thing.
1:56
Cleaning is wiping down your counters.
1:59
And decluttering is removing what
2:01
doesn't belong on your counters.
2:04
While also cleaning is sweeping the
2:07
floor. Decluttering is like getting rid
2:09
of what keeps ending up on the floor and
2:13
making sure that it actually has a home
2:16
and a purpose. And I used to clean all
2:19
the time. I still do, but it takes way
2:22
less time. I used to clean around the
2:26
clutter. And when you clean around the
2:28
clutter, your home is just never going
2:30
to feel calm because clutter is visual
2:34
noise. And clutter is also mental noise
2:37
and clutter is exhausting. One verse in
2:41
the Bible that carried me through this
2:45
season of going through my home and
2:47
decluttering and just letting go of
2:49
things is, "Be careful for nothing, but
2:53
in everything by prayer and petition
2:55
with thanksgiving, let your requests be
2:58
known unto God. And the peace of God
3:01
which surpasses all understanding shall
3:04
guard your hearts and minds through
3:07
Christ Jesus." This is Philippians 4:es
3:12
6-7. It is one of my favorite favorite
3:16
verses, especially also in terms of
3:18
prayer. I didn't just need a cleaner
3:21
home. What I needed was peace. And that
3:24
is why I went towards this Bible
3:27
scripture. And in doing that, God showed
3:29
me that peace doesn't come from doing
3:33
more. Sometimes peace comes from letting
3:36
go. So, let's talk about what I started
3:39
decluttering first and why it actually
3:41
made me calm. This is what I recommend
3:43
to every mom who is feeling overwhelmed
3:46
and in a season of needing to let go. I
3:48
didn't start with organizing. I didn't
3:50
start with buying bins. Instead, I
3:53
started with the easiest wins. The first
3:56
thing I decluttered was trash and just
3:59
random clutter. easy things like just
4:01
nonquestable things like old papers,
4:05
packaging, broken toys, receipts, junk
4:08
drawers, things like that. And then
4:10
instantly my home immediately just felt
4:13
lighter. So then I moved on to
4:14
decluttering my clothes. And now clothes
4:17
is definitely a big win, but not as easy
4:20
as you know like the trash and things.
4:22
So when I started decluttering my
4:24
clothes, I focused on things that didn't
4:26
fit, things that I never wore, things
4:28
that I was keeping out of guilt. And
4:30
once my closet was simpler, my mornings
4:33
became calmer. I decluttered my kitchen,
4:36
extra cups, containers, gadgets, and
4:38
things that I just didn't use or rarely
4:41
use. And then suddenly my kitchen became
4:43
easier to maintain. And once you start
4:46
to get this momentum, you feel more
4:49
motivated to just keep going and really
4:51
really dive deep to see how much more
4:54
beneficial it gets. So I decluttered
4:57
toys. And friend, this one changed
4:58
everything because the more toys you
5:01
have, the more mess your kids are going
5:04
to make. And the funny thing that I
5:06
noticed is that when I started letting
5:08
go of toys that were not being used, my
5:10
kids actually played better. I know,
5:14
weird, right? But toys were less
5:16
scattered and my home was easier to
5:18
reset. And I realized something huge. It
5:22
wasn't that I needed to clean more. It
5:25
was that I just needed less stuff. And
5:28
that there was the wakeup call that
5:31
changed everything. So, I wanted to lean
5:34
more into decluttering and minimalism
5:36
and see really where I can go with it
5:39
and how beneficial it really and truly
5:42
can be the further and deeper I got into
5:44
it. Decluttering didn't just make my
5:47
home look better, it actually calmed my
5:50
nervous system. We live in a day and age
5:52
where everyone has anxiety. Everyone is
5:56
nervous and anxious all the time, always
5:59
overwhelmed. And this is because clutter
6:02
will keep your brain in unfinished task
6:06
mode. It's like your mind is constantly
6:09
scanning your home and it's saying do
6:11
this, fix that, clean this, put that
6:14
away. So even if you sit down, you are
6:17
still going to feel anxious because you
6:20
are still thinking of the next thing
6:22
that you need to do and your space it's
6:26
just busy. So your mind naturally is
6:29
going to be busy. But once the clutter
6:31
is gone, your eyes rest and your mind
6:34
rests and your body rests. And here's
6:37
the thing, there's a time and place for
6:39
everything. There is a place for
6:41
busyness, but our home should be that
6:44
place of rest, that place of return. And
6:48
once you declutter, once your mind and
6:51
your body and your eyes rest, that's
6:53
when calm starts to return. I didn't
6:56
even realize how overstimulated I was
6:59
until I just wasn't anymore. And most
7:02
moms, most homemaker are the same way.
7:05
So, let's do a quick check-in with
7:08
everything thus far. How are we feeling
7:11
right now? Leave an emoji down below and
7:14
just let me know if you're feeling
7:16
overwhelmed, if you're feeling
7:17
motivated, if you're tired, but you're
7:19
still here with me. And if you are
7:20
cleaning while listening, let me know
7:23
down below with an emoji. Also, if
7:26
you're new here, please introduce
7:27
yourself because I love connecting with
7:29
you all here on this channel and through
7:32
my social media accounts. And if this
7:35
video is already encouraging you, I hope
7:37
that you would like it and give it a
7:38
thumbs up because it truly helps to
7:41
support the channel and it helps YouTube
7:42
to push this video to other moms who
7:45
need this same encouragement and
7:48
motivation. But if you want help
7:50
decluttering step by step, I also
7:53
created something for you down below in
7:56
the description box. You can join my
7:57
newsletter to get instant access to my
8:00
30 days to a peaceful home and heart
8:03
decluttering guide. I actually did a
8:06
series. I have like a playlist for this
8:08
as well if you want to learn more about
8:09
what it's about. But basically, it walks
8:11
you through what to declutter, how to
8:14
let go, and how to maintain it without
8:17
feeling overwhelmed. It's gentle,
8:19
realistic, and it's made for moms and
8:21
homemakers like us. I designed it to
8:23
kind of be like a kickstart to
8:25
decluttering all areas of our lives,
8:28
starting with just the first 30 days.
8:31
Now, let's talk about the real stuff,
8:33
and that is that decluttering is
8:36
emotional. And this is something that
8:38
people do not always mention because we
8:41
don't just hold on to stuff. Instead, we
8:44
hold on to guilt. We hold on to what if
8:48
I need it someday. We hold on to things
8:50
because somebody gave it to us. We hold
8:53
on to things because we spend money. We
8:56
hold on to things because we just feel
8:58
like we should. But peace requires
9:01
release. And you are allowed to let go.
9:05
You're allowed to donate. You're allowed
9:07
to throw away what no longer serves your
9:10
home in your current season of life.
9:13
because your home is meant to serve your
9:16
family, not burden you. The thing that I
9:20
loved the most is that decluttering also
9:22
changed my motherhood. So, it's also
9:26
outside of me, right? Because I became
9:29
much more patient. I became less
9:31
irritated. I became less overstimulated.
9:35
And I also realized something. And that
9:38
is that a lot of my frustration wasn't
9:41
because my kids were too much. It was
9:44
because my environment was actually too
9:46
much. And once my home became calmer, I
9:50
became calmer. And that actually made me
9:53
a better mom and that is worth
9:57
everything. Not perfect mom, but
10:01
definitely more peaceful. It also
10:03
changed my homemaking because suddenly
10:06
cleaning just didn't feel impossible. It
10:09
didn't feel daunting like it's going to
10:11
just take forever and I wasn't just
10:14
dreading having to clean my home because
10:17
there wasn't as much to manage. There
10:19
wasn't as much to pick up and there
10:21
wasn't as much to organize. it started
10:24
to feel less like catching up and more
10:27
like stewardship, really caring for the
10:30
things that I love in my home. Because
10:32
once you declutter, you're letting go of
10:34
things that you don't necessarily love
10:35
as well. And when you have things in
10:38
your home that you truly truly love, you
10:41
just technically want to care more for
10:42
it. You want to steward it much more.
10:45
And that goes for family as well. And I
10:48
realized that decluttering is also a
10:50
form of homemaking. It's not just
10:52
cleaning. It's building a home that
10:54
functions and one that supports your
10:56
family. A home that feels peaceful. So
11:00
now let's talk about the simple system
11:03
that helped me to maintain decluttering
11:07
my home and the things that I had
11:09
already let go of. So here's what helped
11:11
me to maintain it. It wasn't perfection.
11:14
Definitely not strict schedules.
11:16
Instead, it was simple resets. And I
11:19
talk a lot about that here on my
11:21
channel. If you've been here a while,
11:22
I'm pretty sure you've heard me talk
11:23
about gentle rhythms and simple resets
11:26
and daily rhythms and anchors. So, let's
11:29
talk about some of those small anchor
11:31
habits. Things like doing a quick reset
11:33
at the end of the day, keeping your
11:34
surfaces clear, doing laundry in smaller
11:38
daily amounts, keeping a donation basket
11:40
ready, and putting things away
11:42
immediately instead of later. These are
11:45
small anchor habits that help you to
11:47
maintain a clutterfree home. My home
11:50
stopped spiraling because it wasn't
11:52
about doing more. Instead, it was
11:54
actually about just staying consistent.
11:58
Instead of looking for what do I need to
12:00
do more of, what do I need to buy more
12:02
of? Buying more organizing bins, doing
12:04
more, building a better schedule,
12:06
instead I just needed to stay consistent
12:08
with what I already knew was working.
12:10
And here is the benefit. The benefit is
12:12
that my home doesn't feel like it is
12:14
constantly spiraling out of control
12:16
anymore. And I no longer feel like I
12:19
have to spend entire days catching up or
12:23
cleaning until I'm exhausted just to
12:25
feel some relief. Instead, my days feel
12:28
lighter. My home feels more manageable.
12:30
And I feel much more present with my
12:34
family. And again, that is the part that
12:36
is literally priceless. It's worth
12:38
everything. It also helped me to stop
12:40
feeling so mentally overwhelmed because
12:44
my god, I was so overwhelmed every day.
12:47
But decluttering helped me to start
12:50
waking up with more direction, more
12:53
peace, more confidence in what I needed
12:56
to do because I wasn't constantly
12:58
reacting to chaos anymore. And I had a
13:01
rhythm. I had a simple structure that
13:04
wasn't super overwhelming. It wasn't too
13:07
much. And even when life gets busy, even
13:10
when the kids are extra needy, and even
13:12
when things don't go perfectly, I still
13:15
have a foundation that keeps me
13:16
grounded. And honestly, it also gave me
13:19
more joy because I just wasn't spending
13:22
all of my time stressed out about the
13:24
mess. I was actually able to enjoy my
13:27
children more and enjoy my home more,
13:30
enjoy my marriage more, and even enjoy
13:32
myself more. I had more time for
13:35
self-care because instead of cleaning my
13:37
home all day, I had time to actually sit
13:40
down and like do my nails or do my hair
13:43
or do a skincare routine. It basically
13:45
created margin for the things that
13:47
mattered most to me and made my home
13:49
feel like a place of rest again. So, I
13:53
want to encourage you to try it and to
13:56
keep coming back each week for more
13:59
because this is not something that you
14:01
have to figure out all on your own. I
14:04
want this channel to be a place where
14:06
you feel encouraged and motivated and
14:09
supported. A place where you can
14:11
actually learn simple systems that
14:14
actually work and biblical reminders
14:17
that keeps your hearts anchored in what
14:20
matters. So, even if you start small,
14:22
even if you only apply one thing from
14:25
today's video, I want to encourage you
14:27
to stay consistent with it. Give
14:30
yourself time to really fill it out and
14:32
give yourself grace. Keep showing up and
14:35
keep building a peaceful home. Just one
14:38
step at a time. If you ever feel like
14:40
you're falling behind again, just come
14:43
back here and let this be your reset,
14:45
your encouragement, and your reminder
14:47
that you are capable of creating peace
14:50
in your home, even if you are in a busy
14:53
season like me. So, I hope that you
14:56
enjoyed this video. I hope that you have
14:58
a peaceful, joyful, and productive week.
15:01
And I truly hope that this video
15:03
reminded you that peace is possible even
15:06
in motherhood, even in the mess, and
15:08
even in the busy seasons. If you enjoyed
15:11
today's video and it encouraged you at
15:12
all, please don't forget to like this
15:14

15:16

encouragement. And again, if you are new
