Welcome. Today we're just going to be
0:21
doing a day in the life. Um, it's
0:23
already pretty late in the day. got a
0:25
late start because yesterday we had
0:27
family over and we blew up the bounce
0:29
house, the water slides, and we had a
0:31
pretty fun day yesterday. So, my husband
0:35
barbecued and all of that fun stuff. And
0:38
basically, I didn't pre-prep for the
0:40
week yesterday, like I like to do on
0:42
Sundays. So, today I'm going to try to
0:45
catch up a little bit. I'm going to try
0:46
to make some bread. Um, we're going to
0:48
do some dinner today. Going to do a
0:50
little bit of home school, clean up a
0:52
little bit. just feel like I'm just a
0:55
little bit behind because I didn't
0:57
pre-prep. So, just looking around, it's
0:59
not too too bad. Like, I'll show you
1:00
guys. My daughter's birthday was this
1:02
past week as well. So, I still have like
1:04
buffet serving dishes out, but at least
1:07
like the sink isn't too bad. So, but
1:10
definitely like got swimsuits and towels
1:12
on the table from yesterday with water
1:14
play. Um, yeah, some stuff to meet we
1:18
need to be doing in here. For now, I'm
1:20
just going to get the kids fed and try
1:23
to get the meat into some cool water so
1:26
that it can hurry and thaw because I
1:28
would love to be able to just put it in
1:29
the slow cooker and let it cook so that
1:31
I can catch up on the cleaning and stuff
1:33
today. So, let's just go ahead and just
1:36
see where the day takes us. Change of
1:38
plans. We got to go change her diaper
1:41
and her dress. It's actually been a
1:42
little while since we did a day in the
1:46
life.
1:47
Um,
1:50
I've been trying to do like some helpful
1:52
like sit down content, some homemaking
1:56
content, but I haven't done a whole lot
1:59
of motherhood and parenting content.
2:03
So, I want to do a bit more of that,
2:05
especially while babies, the kids are
2:07
babies and littles. So,
2:11
a lot of that does just look like this.
2:13
A day in the life of me just doing all
2:15
the mama stuff. What are you going to
2:17
wear today, Nia?
2:33
[Music]
2:42
[Music]
2:54
What's wrong, baby girl? I see you
2:57
walking back there.
3:01
Yeah.
3:10
Hey,
3:26
[Music]
3:35
All
3:44
right. So, I got the chicken in some
3:46
cool water and Va is eating some
3:48
muffins. But I'm also making her the
3:50
peanut butter banana bread waffles by
3:53
Evergreen. Six g of protein. So, I'm
3:56
going to see if she likes these.
3:59
Is it good? Is it yum?
4:09
I think she looks like she might be
4:11
coming down with like a cold or
4:13
something this morning. I thought that
4:14
she was a little bit warm. Um
4:19
the temperature was reading like 98, but
4:22
I only did a forehead temp. So I always
4:24
just estimate a little bit higher than
4:26
where she's getting from the forehead
4:28
temperature. So, pretty sure she has
4:30
fever this morning, but she feels she
4:33
seems to be a little bit better now, but
4:36
I can see in her eyes, I just think she
4:37
looks tired. So, I don't know. Like, we
4:40
had a long week. We had lots of people
4:42
over throughout the week, so it's
4:44
possible. But these are But this is what
4:47
the waffles looks like. They're pretty
4:49
soft. So, I'm going to give her one of
4:51
these and see if she likes it. So, let's
4:54
take a quick break here and take a
4:57
moment and step away from our motherly
4:59
duties and get into a bit of homemaking.
5:01
So, if you guys need some homemaking and
5:03
cleaning motivation, then this is the
5:05
part here. I'm getting ready to begin
5:07
dinner prep while both the kids are
5:08
taking a nap right after they ate lunch.
5:12
They both fell right to sleep. And so,
5:14
that's like the perfect most ideal time
5:16
for me to prepare dinner, at least if I
5:18
want to do so uninterrupted. So, I'm
5:21
going to go ahead and chop some veggies
5:23
and throw those inside of the slow
5:25
cooker. And then I'm going to add the
5:27
chicken that I took out to thaw. It took
5:30
a couple of hours to thaw in cool water.
5:32
Now, it's ready for me to go ahead and
5:33
put it inside of my Pioneer Woman slow
5:35
cooker. It has two settings where I can
5:37
either do a very low setting for 8 hours
5:40
or I can do a medium high setting for 4
5:43
hours. And so that's what I'm going to
5:45
be doing. Just slow cooking this for 4
5:47
hours so that we'll be able to eat
5:48
dinner around 7:00 tonight. So putting
5:52
that in right now while the little ones
5:54
are asleep. And then I'm just going to
5:56
get into some cleaning. Just trying to
5:58
get a lot of my homemaking done. It
6:01
typically takes me about an hour and a
6:03
half to get it done. So morning is, you
6:06
know, just that morning breakfast prep,
6:09
homeschool, all that good stuff. And
6:11
then afternoon is when the kids are
6:14
having their downtime when I'm able to
6:16
get a lot of my homemaking done. So
6:18
that's typically when I'm doing dinner
6:20
or cleaning up after breakfast. It's not
6:22
really a strict schedule, just more so
6:24
like just a flow or a daily rhythm.
6:26
Later on tonight after we have dinner,
6:28
I'll do like a quick evening tidy again.
6:31
And that one is going to be a lot
6:33
shorter. Probably take me somewhere
6:35
around, I don't know, maybe 10 to 15
6:37
minutes. So yeah, midday is pretty much
6:39
the bulk of it. And that's dinner prep
6:42
and after breakfast cleaning.

This morning
8:10
I need
8:13
to see the horizon.
8:18
Excuses were too for a penny.
8:22
But they've all gone out the window of

this car. And when I feel

10:44

10:49
It's a good day. day.
10:53
[Music]
10:54
It's a good day.
10:59
It's a good day to live.
11:15
Na is definitely running a slight fever.
11:19
Um, I wasn't sure earlier. He definitely
11:21
has a slight fever. Noah, he was up
11:25
pretty early this morning. I think he
11:26
woke up at 7:00 a.m. And so, honestly,
11:30
both of the kids were a little bit tired
11:33
and they went down for an early nap
11:37
today. So, we actually didn't do
11:39
homechool today, which we plan to, but
11:42
that's okay because in the summertime we
11:44
do a more relaxed like summer homechool
11:48
schedule. I just talked a lot about that
11:50
in the very last video that I posted if
11:52
you're interested if you're a homeschool
11:54
family or if you're interested in seeing
11:55
how we homeschool in the summertime. So,
11:58
um, with baby girl having a fever and us
12:01
just having a long week, I actually had
12:04
a cold as well. I had like a 3-day cold
12:08
or something. So, we just had an
12:12
eventful past week. Na's birthday was
12:16
Wednesday. My husband and I celebrated
12:18
our 9-year wedding anniversary. Um, Naa
12:23
turned a year old. What else? We had
12:26
company over. So, we had like a little
12:29
backyard barbecue and water play and
12:32
bounce house. And I had a cold for a
12:36
couple of days. Now, Na is running a
12:38
fever. Um,
12:40
and about a week before Naa's birthday,
12:43
Noah had a cold for about 3 days. So
12:46
yeah, it's just been pretty much us
12:48
trying to catch back up and get back to
12:50
like normal, I guess, or whatever that
12:52
is. I mean, this is normal, right?
12:55
Because things like this happened. So,
12:56
basically, we just didn't do homeschool
12:58
today. Um, after I fed the kids lunch,
13:02
they Noah went straight to sleep. The
13:05
van, she needed to be rocked, but like I
13:07
could see it in her eyes and in her face
13:09
and everything. So, I like just sat down
13:12
with her. I didn't do anything. I tried
13:15
to get some work done, but um I
13:18
couldn't. So, yeah, I could tell she
13:21
wasn't feeling the best. So, I kind of
13:22
just sat down and read a book and just
13:26
rocked her and held her. She fell
13:28
asleep. I even held her for a while
13:30
while she was sleep just to make sure
13:31
that she could get a good amount of
13:33
sleep since I know she's not feeling
13:34
that well. Um, and then for the last
13:37
little bit of her nap, I went
13:38
downstairs, which you guys saw, and I
13:41
put dinner in the slow cooker and tidied
13:45
up a bit and knew she would want a lot
13:48
of my time so that I'm not standing over
13:51
the stove the whole time. I also knew
13:52
she wouldn't nap for too too long. Um, I
13:55
just went ahead and did it in the slow
13:57
cooker and just put like some spices in
13:59
there that might be good for the whole
14:01
family's immune system like turmeric,
14:04
garlic, onion, ginger, things like that.
14:08
And I also cold brew um put a cold brew
14:12
tea in the fridge as well for myself. I
14:14
want to make bread, but I don't know yet
14:17
if I'm going to be able to do that. If I
14:19
can't do it tonight, then I'll at least
14:20
get up in the morning and do some bread.
14:24
I would love to have done it today so
14:25
that we could have some maybe with
14:27
breakfast tomorrow like French toast or
14:30
peanut butter toast for Naa, you know,
14:32
but we'll see. Right now, I'm honestly
14:36
just going to hold her, nurse her, and
14:40
um you know, see what else I might be
14:43
able to get done. But yeah, that's
14:46
pretty much what this day is looking
14:48
like. Sometimes your babies just need
14:51
you. And I think that that's productive,
14:54
too. So important that we not always be
14:57
rushing and trying to get our mile long
15:00
to-do list done, especially if we have
15:02
babies that need us. And that's really
15:04
important, too. So, yeah, our family is
15:06
all about intentionality, slowing down,
15:08
not rushing through things, and kind of
15:10
just, you know, being present in those
15:12
moments.
15:26
There was sun and there was rain.
15:30
Beauty in the mundane.
15:35
And as the light
15:38
startled our eyes, we let go of
15:41
disguise.
15:42
[Music]
15:47
And now
15:49
there's something in the air
15:53
and a sparkly shimmer on our skin.
15:58
Restoring everything within.
16:02
[Music]
16:03
Oh,
16:07
dreamy breezy we go.
16:13
Easy, easy on our tiptoes.
16:18
Underco
16:21
agents of the other.
16:24
Beyond gravel, beyond.
16:29
[Music]
16:35
Hand in hand, building castles out of
16:39
sand,
16:41
reaching for the grand
16:46
swine,
16:48
we lose track of time. And up high, now
16:52
we climb.
16:54
[Music]
16:55
Oh,
16:59
dreamy breezy we go.
17:05
Easy, easy on our tiptoes.
17:10
Underco
17:13
agents of the other.
17:16
Beyond gravel, beyond.
17:19
So, since this morning, right now is the
17:21
first break that I have gotten away from
17:23
my daughter. Um, she has been running a
17:27
slight fever and it's going through all
17:30
of the feels. So, yesterday I didn't get
17:32
to do my bread. So, I did the bread and
17:36
I'm going to check it and hopefully it's
17:38
ready to be shaped so that we can let it
17:40
finish rising and then once that's done,
17:42
we can put it in the pan and then get it
17:44
baked in the oven. The boys are out at
17:46
swim. Noah had swim rehearsal today,
17:49
swim lessons. So that's where they are.
17:52
See,
17:56
so it did double in size.
18:12
Try and get this out.
18:18
That's it. And I'm literally just going
18:21
to go ahead and
18:24
add this up some.
18:49
Oh yeah, it's coming together. It's a
18:52
pretty good texture. Can work with this
18:54
for sure.
19:04
Stretching it.
20:22
Let this finish rising.
20:27
I'm going to get the stuff cleaned up so
20:30
I can start on dinner.
20:44
I text my husband because I'm trying to
20:46
make sure he didn't pick up dinner
20:48
because sometimes he does that when
20:52
they're out and I don't want to
20:56
waste anything. So,
20:59
if not, then we're just going to have
21:01
some spaghetti and meatballs. Something
21:03
very easy and simple to make.
21:31
So, I preheated the oven and I still
21:34
have to let the bread rise for another
21:36
45 minutes, but um it's sitting on top
21:41
of the stove. So, that's going to help
21:45
it to rise faster cuz the oven is
21:47
preheated. So, it's not in the oven, but
21:49
it's on top of it. So, got to give it a
21:51
little bit of warm warmth to help it
21:53
rise a little bit. Then, we'll put it in
21:56
the oven. Bake it up
22:00
and then we will have bread at least for
22:03
the next few days
22:11
because right now we have none.
22:26
I got a few more dishes here to add to
22:30
the dishwasher.
22:32
Oh, wait. My husband started the
22:33
dishwasher. So, sometimes I won't start
22:35
the dishwasher immediately cuz I know
22:37
there's a few more dishes that I can
22:38
still add and I would rather start it
22:40
when everything is in there from the
22:42
day. But my husband, he'll just go
22:44
behind me and start it. So, that's what
22:45
he did, which is fine. Um, we just got a
22:49
few of them. So, we'll put those in
22:50
there with the dinner dishes. This day
22:52
in the life definitely didn't go the way
22:54
that I planned for it to go. It was
22:56
supposed to be one day in the life, not
22:57
two days in the life. Um, and yeah, with
23:00
the baby having this like fever and
23:03
everything. I don't know. It's just been
23:04
a long week for us. So, just catching
23:06
up. And again, I try not to like just
23:08
rush things and force things. Um, we've
23:12
really been leaning into intentionality
23:14
and slow living, so just going with the
23:16
day. It's pretty peaceful and quiet. Um,
23:21
the boys are out right now, so that will
23:23
be why. But I tried to film a lot of
23:27
this just in real time with you guys
23:30
just hearing like the background noise
23:31
and everything going on so that we can
23:34
kind of just go through this days
23:35
together. Yeah, a lot of it was just
23:37
down time with us just sitting down, me
23:40
nursing the baby and just relaxing and
23:42
things like that. But now at this point,
23:45
I'm just going to go ahead and make
23:46
some, like I said, some spaghetti. Very
23:48
simple. I'm just going to ground some
23:50
beef and boil some pasta noodles with
23:53
some tomato sauce and throw some
23:55
meatballs in the oven. And that is how
23:58
we're going to pretty much end our day
23:59
here. But yeah, I hope that you guys
24:02
pretty much just enjoy hanging out a
24:04
little bit. It's been a little bit of
24:05
time since we've done that. I'm going to
24:07
do another one of these in the next few
24:09
weeks and update you guys because we
24:11
have some exciting new things coming up
24:13
for us this year that I have to share
24:16
with you all. But that's going to be all
24:18
for today's day in the life. Thank you
24:20
guys for hanging out with me and I will
24:22
see you guys in the next one.
