If I could just give you guys a glimpse
0:03
and a picture of how many times I broke
0:05
down with my first kid, I couldn't find
0:09
my people within my circle. And so
0:12
sometimes I would just go on YouTube and
0:13
then I would see people that was moming
0:17
like me. Wish that we lived in a world
0:20
where people can just live their own
0:23
lives without scrutiny of others. We are
0:26
hard enough on ourselves. The last thing
0:28
we need is other people trying to tell
0:31
us what to do.
0:32
>> Did you guys know that there are people
0:35
on YouTube that has like a niche in
0:41
finding motherhood YouTube channels and
0:44
I guess talking about how much they
0:47
dislike them and why they dislike them.
0:50
like they will make videos about like
0:53
the worst mom bloggers or vloggers on
0:55
the internet and how much they are
0:58
against it. And that's just something
1:01
that I thought about today while I was
1:03
getting myself dressed and not because
1:06
it bothers me. It was literally just
1:09
like a random thought because I knew
1:10
that I was going to be vlogging today
1:12
and one thing that I was trying to
1:15
decide because I was getting my daughter
1:16
dressed for the day or changing her
1:18
diaper. I was trying to decide if I
1:20
wanted to let the kids be in today's
1:22
vlog or not. And that's something that I
1:24
never gave a whole lot of thought about,
1:29
but I know that things are changing in
1:31
the world today. It's not as safe as
1:34
it's always been here. Um, or maybe it's
1:37
never been safe and we're just now
1:38
realizing it to put our kids on the
1:42
internet. And so I know I still post
1:44
pictures of them on like Facebook,
1:45
Instagram, and things like that.
1:48
Are you stirring my tea? Thank you. Even
1:51
more so is that a lot of the awareness
1:54
has come from people, you know, speaking
1:56
out about it. And now there are like a
1:59
ton of people that really really look
2:03
negatively and bad upon people who
2:06
create
2:07
videos and just so happen to have kids.
2:10
It's like not everyone vlogs
2:13
about their children. You know what I'm
2:15
saying? It's just that some moms, they
2:18
vlog and their children, they're there.
2:20
It's a part of life. They're part of
2:23
their day naturally. When I was growing
2:25
up, we used to watch shows like Reading
2:27
Rainbow where it would be like kids on
2:29
there doing little things. I feel like
2:31
it's inspirational to see moms with kids
2:36
and see how they go about their day. And
2:38
one of the reasons why I personally
2:40
created my YouTube channel is because
2:43
when I was a new mother, I did not know
2:47
anyone in my personal life that was
2:50
moming like I was moming. I was new to
2:52
being a stay-at-home mom. Um, I had no
2:56
idea that I was going to be
2:56
homeschooling. In fact, I didn't think
2:59
that I wanted to homeschool because I
3:01
never saw anybody doing it. Um, that's
3:04
another story for another day about how
3:05
I began homeschooling and it became one
3:08
of the best decisions we made for our
3:10
children. But yeah, motherhood just felt
3:13
hard. I didn't have anyone in my
3:15
personal life to teach me and show me
3:17
how to do it. Nobody was there to show
3:19
me how to breastfeed. Nobody was there
3:21
to show me what to do when it got hard.
3:24
Nobody was there to show me how the heck
3:26
do you potty train a toddler? What do
3:28
you do during tantrums? have I could
3:31
just give you guys a glimpse and a
3:33
picture of how many times I broke down
3:36
with my first kid because he had a
3:39
tantrum at the library, a tantrum at the
3:41
restaurant. And at the restaurant, I was
3:43
surrounded by a like so much family yet
3:47
still felt so alone. And that was the
3:50
hardest part for me as a mom is just
3:53
that feeling of being alone. even when I
3:55
was surrounded by so many people, I
3:58
couldn't find my people within my
4:00
circle. And so sometimes I would just go
4:02
on YouTube and then I would see people
4:05
that was moming like me. And even though
4:08
it wasn't me to a tea, you know, they
4:11
weren't in my exact same situation,
4:16
because there are so many people on the
4:19
internet from many different walks of
4:21
life, it's easy to fit in there, you
4:24
know, to find that motivation, that
4:27
inspiration, even an answer to a
4:29
question that you might have and nobody
4:31
around you can answer. And I got a lot
4:34
of inspiration specifically from a
4:36
vlogger named Kayla, Kayla Bule. I was
4:40
watching her um when I was a new mom and
4:42
got a lot of inspiration from her
4:45
specifically and she shares her
4:46
children, you know, in her vlogs on the
4:48
internet. She shared her opinion on it
4:50
and I think her stance. I don't want to
4:53
misquote her here. You'll just have to
4:55
go and watch her video. Basically like
4:56
what I'm saying is that it's
4:58
inspirational to see you know mothers
5:01
being moms you know and especially for
5:05
people who struggle you know and so I
5:09
don't know that was just something that
5:10
I thought about today when I got up this
5:13
morning. Speaking of this morning this
5:16
vlog is going to be pretty slow. Most of
5:19
our days are very slow and if you can't
5:22
tell and you've been here for a while,
5:24
we are home in Michigan right now. Um,
5:28
and typically things are slower here,
5:30
especially during this season anyway.
5:32
So, we're going to have a slow vlog
5:33
today. Make something to eat, do a
5:37
little bit of tidying or cleaning is the
5:39
goal. I need to order a few organization
5:41
items though. Um, but we will see where
5:46
this vlog takes us.
5:56
Really quickly, I kind of wanted to go
5:58
ahead and just give myself a little bit
6:00
of makeup and refresh my hair. I feel
6:02
like I've been looking pretty crazy so
6:04
far this morning. So, I don't do too
6:06
much. Just a little bit of foundation as
6:09
well as some mascara. And then I brush
6:12
my eyebrows with eyebrow mascara. And
6:15
I'm also going to put a little bit of
6:18
water in my hair so that my curls don't
6:21
look too dry. It also kind of helps to
6:23
define them a little bit. So that's what
6:26
you guys see me doing here.
6:59
So, I'm inside of my son's room now, and
7:02
his room is really,
7:04
really a mess. And what really, really
7:08
got me was that he did this
7:12
within like I don't know 2 hours of us
7:15
being back home. Um and so that told me
7:19
like okay he just has a lot of stuff in
7:22
this room and we need to go through here
7:24
see what maybe we can declutter um what
7:27
we can throw away really. He's
7:28
downstairs playing with my husband right
7:30
now which is the perfect opportunity for
7:32
me to do this when he's not up here
7:34
where he can't try to stop me. Um
7:37
because if I was to tell him to clean
7:39
his room right now, he wouldn't be able
7:41
to thoroughly clean. He would be able to
7:43
just kind of like put things in any
7:46
place, tidy it maybe, but definitely not
7:49
clean it. Right here is just a pile of
7:51
blankets that he uses to build forts. So
7:54
already I can see a couple things on the
7:56
floor that I just need to throw away,
7:58
but I also can see things that need to
8:01
be taken out. For instance, he has
8:03
Spider-Man bed sheets that are twinsized
8:06
and he does not have a twiniz bed here
8:09
nowhere here in this home. My husband
8:12
accidentally got the wrong size years
8:15
ago and for some reason I kept it. And
8:18
then he has a pillow over there that he
8:20
just uses like never and it's pretty
8:23
difficult to wash. We're going to throw
8:25
it away as well. Has a broken laundry
8:28
basket over there. And as you guys can
8:29
see, one more larger one, which is way
8:32
too large. So, we need to figure out the
8:34
laundry basket situation. He does not
8:36
need three laundry baskets in here. And
8:38
then his closet. He has pretty much a
8:41
lot of clothes in there that he can't
8:42
fit because we haven't been here in
8:44
about 6 months. So, yeah, lots of things
8:48
in here already that I can see that we
8:50
can do. And if you look in the hallway,
8:52
I did the same thing in my closet
8:54
yesterday. My daughter is in here with
8:55
me. And we're going to just move around
8:58
this room and see what we can do.
9:15
By the way, these are all our clean
9:18
clothes and he threw them on the floor
9:21
before I could fold them. The covers are
9:24
all also clean. And he took them out to
9:26
build a fork.
9:29
So there's that.
10:06
We'll keep these extra sheets because
10:10
he's a kid. Sometimes he makes a mess
10:13
and we need to change his sheets and we
10:15
need to have them available immediately.
10:17
So, we'll keep one extra set of sheets,
10:20
but I do need to take it downstairs and
10:22
wash it. Um, and then I'll probably
10:25
actually find someplace else to store
10:27
this away so that he doesn't have access
10:29
to pull them out like that again. If
10:32
that I could store it in his room, but
10:34
he likes to play with them and I would
10:36
rather he asks to play with them than he
10:39
just pulls them out. So, this is going
10:41
to go
10:43
downstairs. We're going to wash it and
10:45
store it in the laundry room.
11:15
Huh?
11:24
Oh my god.
11:42
I'm going to take that down and dispose
11:44
of it. And then I also have a little
11:47
basket here of things to put into the
11:49
basement. Now, in here, you guys see
11:52
giant Hulk fist and things that I ran
11:55
into is that the last time I decluttered
11:57
that, I actually put it in the garage.
12:01
And one day, my husband pulled it back
12:03
out because I think he had more fun with
12:05
it than my son. And even though it's
12:07
been here and my son has not picked it
12:09
up to play with it, my husband bought it
12:11
and he enjoyed it so he brought it back
12:13
out. I'm not going to make the mistake
12:15
of putting it in the garage again
12:16
because now that it's been in the garage
12:18
for a long time, brought back out, and
12:20
my son still has not chosen to play with
12:22
it, that gives me the idea to just throw
12:24
it away. So, I'm thought I would throw
12:27
it in the basin, but I think I'm going
12:28
to add it to that bin because last time
12:33
I made that mistake and I'm going to
12:34
just throw it away. And then in the
12:36
midst of me decluttering, cleaning, my
12:40
daughter opened this up and began
12:41
playing with it. So, that tells me this
12:44
is still something that she enjoys
12:46
playing with and her and my son often
12:48
play with it together. Now, my son's toy
12:50
box is really not that large. When this
12:53
begins to overflow, then I take some
12:55
toys out and put it into toy rotation.
12:58
In here are a lot of Paw Patrol toys. We
13:00
have a Paw Patrol bin in the basement.
13:02
I'm going to just take those and put
13:04
them in basement. He has just a couple
13:06
of them. Not much. Some of them are in
13:09
Florida. But at least I know that these
13:12
are the toys that he keeps in his room
13:14
to play with and that's toys that I need
13:17
to if it gets full rotate. That's Paw
13:19
Patrol as well. There's a wagon that I
13:21
want to take outside and use it for
13:23
gardening because when they roll that
13:26
thing throughout the house and it's not
13:28
carpet, it's so loud. I don't know. I
13:31
just feel like it has more purpose
13:32
outside. And then these bins here, it's
13:36
laundry. So, those that bin was laundry
13:39
that needed to be washed. And that was
13:41
laundry that needed to be folded that I
13:43
never folded. And my son took it out and
13:45
he threw it all over the floor. So, I'm
13:50
just going to wash both of those
13:51
together and fold laundry tonight. And
13:54
then over here, he has two baskets
13:58
missing. No idea where they are. I think
14:01
he had a basket of magnetiles that's in
14:05
Florida and Duplo locks that's in
14:07
Florida. So, I think I'm going to maybe
14:12
go through these books because he has a
14:14
bin of books on the top of the shelf.
14:16
But if I can put some of those books
14:19
into like one of those white baskets on
14:22
the shelf, that'll reduce some of the
14:24
clutter up top here. And then he has
14:26
plenty of books over there. Books is not
14:28
a thing that I worry about when it comes
14:30
to clutter because we love books. Books,
14:32
reading, it's fundamental. So, yeah.
14:35
Everything else I think I'm okay with. I
14:37
do need to again vacuum and clean in
14:39
here. This is everything that I pulled
14:42
out that my son can no longer fit.
14:44
They've been pretty minimal and we
14:45
started that before we went to Florida
14:48
for the fall and winter seasons. So, he
14:51
didn't have a ton of things in here. And
14:54
since then, everything he has pretty
14:56
much outgrown. Same for my daughter. We
14:58
have clothes here that I need to fold
14:59
up. I think she can fit these two. These
15:03
are all too small for her, but she can
15:07
fit within that bin. So, same thing. We
15:10
have just a little bit of items, which
15:12
mean I have to wash more often, but I
15:16
purchased her a couple pairs of pipes
15:19
this week.
15:21
Um,
15:23
I think these are too small. Like it's
15:25
looking so empty in here. So, covers,
15:30
sheets, bassinets, changing table covers
15:33
in there. So, yeah, it's looking bare in
15:35
here. I am honestly getting really tired
15:37
now. The day itself hasn't been like
15:41
overwhelming. I haven't been just going
15:45
crazy doing a ton of things,
15:48
but sometimes I just feel tired. I'm
15:52
very particular and I always encourage
15:56
anyone here on this channel or in
15:58
general to really listen to your bodies.
16:01
And my body is telling me that it's
16:04
getting tired. And so that tells me that
16:06
I either need to take like my vitamins
16:09
or I need to eat again.
16:11
um maybe get some water, whatever. Um
16:16
and again, I'm not like overwhelmed or
16:18
anything. I got up and read a bit,
16:23
prepared some brunch or breakfast for
16:26
the family. I sat down again, rested a
16:30
little bit. I had tea today. I even had
16:32
a little bit of coffee. And then I
16:35
decluttered my son's bedroom. Now, I
16:38
still need to cook dinner and do a 30
16:40
minute workout.
16:42
And I'm pretty tired. Like, I don't have
16:44
the energy needed for that workout. So,
16:46
I think I'm going to make a protein
16:47
shake for lunch. And hopefully that will
16:52
fuel me and give me a bit more energy
16:54
and take some iron. And hopefully
16:57
that'll get me through my 30 minute
16:58
workout in which then I can prepare
17:00
dinner for the day. But it's time for me
17:02
to put my daughter down for her nap,
17:05
which is my window to take care of me a
17:09
bit. I'm going to do my nails tonight.
17:11
So, the day is very much not over. I did
17:14
want to talk a little bit more about
17:17
what I was saying earlier about the how
17:21
I noticed on YouTube there was like a
17:23
channel. It's probably more than one.
17:26
There's this really big one. And she
17:28
literally like specifically pulls out
17:30
certain mom bloggers that she
17:33
disapproves of, I guess. And I guess I
17:35
just wish that we lived in a world where
17:38
people can just live their own lives
17:41
without scrutiny of others. You know,
17:44
it's like you don't have to like what
17:46
other people are doing, but you also
17:48
don't have to insert yourselves into
17:52
their lives. It's just on the internet a
17:55
lot of people saying like this is the
17:57
right way to parent, this is the wrong
17:59
way to parent and you should do this,
18:01
you shouldn't do that. Like we all have
18:02
our opinions. I have my opinions. I feel
18:04
like homeschool is really beneficial for
18:06
kids, right? That's my choice in
18:09
parenting, but I'm not going to tell
18:10
someone else that they should only
18:12
homeschool or it's bad to not
18:15
homeschool. We are hard enough on
18:16
ourselves. The last thing we need is
18:19
other people trying to tell us what to
18:22
do. You have a close friend and you feel
18:24
like your friend is living a lifestyle
18:26
that might be harmful to them or you
18:29
want to share some helpful advice, by
18:32
all means do that. But we just could
18:35
definitely use a little bit more
18:37
positivity and support
18:40
on the internet. So, I hope that my
18:42
channel can give that to you. I'm never
18:45
going to try and put anybody down for
18:48
their choice of parenting, homeschool or
18:51
not, breastfeeding or not, um
18:54
stay-at-home mom, work from home mom,
18:57
working out of a home mom, choosing to
18:59
have your kids in vlogs or not have your
19:01
kids in vlog. Just felt like I started
19:04
that the vlog off on that note and never
19:07
finished it. Like a complete thought
19:09
that just happens sometimes. I get
19:10
sidetracked as a mom, but I kind of just
19:12
wanted to finish out that thought. It's
19:14
just I feel like I couldn't put it into
19:17
words truly of what I wanted to say,
19:20
especially because I started that
19:21
thought hours ago and completely
19:23
derailed it. So maybe I'll talk a bit
19:26
more about it in a another vlog. But I
19:29
pray about everything
19:31
that I do. I truly feel like we're
19:33
covered and protected by the Lord and
19:35
he's going to guide me in everything
19:36
that I do. So I don't worry too much,
19:39
especially when it comes to opinions.
19:41
So, I hope that you don't either. In
19:45
your life, there's always going to be
19:46
someone trying to tell you how you
19:48
should be living your life, how you
19:50
should be pursuing your career, how you
19:52
should be parenting your children, it
19:54
might be the internet, it could be a
19:57
friend, it could be your mom or your
19:59
mother-in-law, it could be your, you
20:01
know, anyone. And so if it's not like
20:04
your spouse or your spouse like your
20:06
husband or the other parent, um,
20:11
honestly, it just doesn't matter. Um,
20:15
live the way that you want to live your
20:17
life. You know, follow God, read your
20:20
Bible, and you'll be fine. to piggyback
20:23
off of like the decluttering that I've
20:25
been doing. So, just in case maybe
20:28
you're new here, my family are we're
20:30
part Michigan, part Florida res
20:32
residence. So, when it comes to like
20:34
going through their clothing, we're
20:36
still new to this. This is our first
20:37
year doing this. I 100% am trying to get
20:41
the hang of this. But that would explain
20:43
why closets are looking thin. Like, we
20:46
took not even a lot. We took one
20:49
suitcase for everybody's clothes. was
20:51
me, my husband, and both our children.
20:53
Well, all of our clothes were in one
20:54
suitcase. That's the amount of clothing
20:57
along with other things that we took um
21:01
to Florida with us. As they grew bigger,
21:04
we replaced their clothing in the state
21:07
that we were currently in. I didn't do
21:08
that here. And the last time that we
21:10
were here was back in November. They
21:13
could kind of fit their clothes, but
21:15
we're kind of growing out of it. But I
21:16
knew we weren't going to be back for the
21:18
rest of the winters. just a little bit
21:20
about why things are kind of like a
21:24
little bit crazy around here lately. But
21:28
yeah, I've been saying
21:30
for at least 30 minutes now that I'll
21:33
put my daughter down for a nap. My
21:34
husband has her, but I know she wants
21:36
mom, so I'm going to put her down for a
21:38
nap, make a protein shake, and see if I
21:41
have enough energy to work out after
21:42
that. Hopefully, I do. But if I don't,
21:44
I'm not going to beat myself up about
21:46
it. Actually, I probably will cuz I've
21:48
been doing really good. So, I might be a
21:50
little upset about it. I'm happy that we
21:51
got a chance to sit down and talk.
21:53
There's so much more that I still want
21:54
to, you know, catch up with you guys
21:56
about specifically like life since
21:58
trying out the snowbird thing. We'll
22:00
talk about that in another vlog. But for
22:02
now, I hope that you guys enjoyed
22:03
hanging out with me. If so, give this
22:05
video a thumbs up. And as always, thank
22:07
you for being here. I'll see you guys in
22:09
the next video. Until next time. Bye.
