Hello Disney lovers and welcome to our
0:02
world of Disney. Today I'm sitting here
0:04
with my husband CJ and we're going to be
0:06
starting a new series or segment. My
0:09
husband and I have been entertaining in
0:11
considering the idea or thought of us
0:13
finding a place in Florida in the
0:16
Orlando area so that we can travel there
0:19
during the colder season months. We live
0:22
up north where six or seven months out
0:24
of the year it's pretty cold and gray.
0:27
And as parents with two littles,
0:29
sometimes it can just be difficult for
0:31
us to find, you know, things for us to
0:33
do here where we stay for our children.
0:36
And so we have traveled to Florida
0:39
multiple times per year for the past
0:42
five years. And so it's definitely
0:43
become one of our favorite sunny weather
0:46
states. So of course, it was one of our
0:48
top contenders. And in this series,
0:50
we're going to be talking about our
0:51
journey and currently where we are in
0:53
terms of moving or finding a place in
0:57
Orlando, Florida. So, of course, I'm
0:58
going to be doing this with my husband.
1:00
Somebody has to pay the bills, right?
1:03
I have a few um like talking points and
1:06
everything so that if you too or your
1:09
family may be considering becoming
1:11
snowbirds, which is basically when you
1:14
travel down south from up north to a
1:16
sunnier weather state during the fall or
1:19
winter or cold season months. So, if
1:21
that's something you're considering or
1:22
you just want to live closer to the
1:24
Disney parks or Universal Studios and
1:26
things like that, then this video in
1:28
this series is going to be perfect for
1:30
you. Again, we have children, two
1:32
littles. We've been to Disney a few
1:33
different times. So, that is definitely
1:35
going to be one of the things, but it's
1:37
not going to be our main factor when it
1:39
comes to traveling and finding a second
1:41
place to move to in Florida. So, let's
1:43
just go ahead and dive right in. So,
1:45
first we're going to be talking about
1:46
the heart behind our move and pretty
1:48
much why we are considering doing this.
1:51
I'm going to let him take the wheel on
1:53
this one as far as the why behind why we
1:57
are doing this. We are moving cuz you
1:59
wouldn't stop asking. That's all.
2:01
Okay. Don't do that.
2:04
I believe that this is something that uh
2:07
we thought about for a long time. A lot
2:09
of times we try to do a lot of fun
2:11
things throughout the summer and then
2:13
you know the winter come it can be it
2:16
can be a little rough. Uh a lot of times
2:18
we go on vacation, we come back and you
2:21
know we realize how gray it is here
2:23
during those colder months. So, you
2:26
know, um I guess for me it's not really
2:28
that much of a problem, but I know for
2:30
you it can be kind of tough sometimes,
2:33
uh you know, dealing with it. Uh for me,
2:36
I'm always out working and stuff like
2:38
that. So, I'm I'm not really in the
2:39
house that much, but I would imagine
2:42
being in the house for a large majority
2:45
of the time and also not having as many
2:47
places to go, you know, I'm sure it uh
2:50
eats at the mind. So, I think that uh
2:54
having somewhere warm to be at during
2:56
those colder months is going to be uh
2:58
pretty big for the family.
2:59
That really does make me so happy that a
3:02
lot that that part of your reason is
3:04
considering me and my fillings because,
3:06
you know, obviously it is different for
3:08
the both of us because he is, you know,
3:10
out like you said and not off not all
3:13
the time but a lot more often than me
3:15
he's out. the good blessings in it is
3:16
that he actually part-time or majority
3:20
of the time works from home. And so that
3:22
is what has enabled us to be able to do
3:25
something like this. And then we also
3:27
homeschool our children. So that's
3:29
another like big factor in it. And as a
3:32
homeschool mom and a stay-at-home mom,
3:34
it is, you know, definitely can be
3:37
difficult getting that cabin fever. It's
3:39
not just it being cold, but obviously
3:41
that's a huge thing. like we'll try to
3:43
get out and do some things, but I would
3:45
not be honest if I said like it's not
3:48
freezing and it's not the most fun thing
3:51
to do, especially when we are going to
3:54
Florida multiple times of the year and
3:56
we have something compared to, you know,
3:57
it's possible that it would be easier if
4:00
we weren't doing that. You know, if we
4:01
didn't have that comparison, but since
4:03
we've been doing that for the past 5
4:05
years, it's definitely a little bit
4:08
difficult. But it's also just really
4:10
wanted to make those memories with, you
4:13
know, my family. I always said, you
4:16
know, I don't want us to spend majority
4:18
of our lives like in the house. I want
4:20
us to get out and experience the
4:22
outdoors where you have opportunity to
4:25
actually do that year round. So with us
4:28
being able to be here during the summer
4:32
or spring months, we can get out and do
4:34
things. And then once it's cold, if we
4:37
are traveling to Orlando, Florida, where
4:38
it's still warm or sunny, we'll still be
4:42
able to do that. And a lot of new
4:45
experiences for the kids, things they
4:47
haven't experienced before in
4:48
homeschool, just culture, all types of
4:51
different things. I know like we have
4:53
created relationships and a life here
4:57
that I would miss. And one of the thing
4:59
is that a lot of those newer like a lot
5:03
of that that I think about and the
5:05
relationships that I know I'm gonna miss
5:07
are some that we have literally just
5:09
recently created in the past like 3
5:11
years. Like we met a family that my
5:14
husband worked with and they're really
5:16
really sweet and we met them just within
5:18
the past 3 years and I've met some
5:20
homeschool mamas at our church that we
5:22
just began attending in a 3 years. So
5:24
just the thought of like some of the
5:26
most meaningful friendships that we have
5:28
and relationships we've just built in
5:30
the past 3 years that gives me the
5:32
encouragement that we'll also you know
5:35
be able to build even more you know
5:37
meaningful friendships and relationships
5:39
out there. I used to be afraid that
5:41
maybe we'll get out there and be lonely,
5:44
but just that thought that I'm gonna
5:46
miss
5:49
just the thought that I'm going to miss
5:51
some of those relationships that we've
5:53
built in the past couple of years
5:55
definitely gives me like the
5:56
encouragement that we'll be able to do
5:58
that again. So, if you're on the fence
6:00
about it for that reason, don't be
6:02
afraid. you know, even somebody like me
6:05
who is not, you know, very like it's not
6:09
the easiest thing for me to get out and
6:11
make friends. I'm definitely encouraging
6:13
that. Next, we're going to talk about
6:15
the things that we're hoping to gain as
6:16
a family by moving out to Florida, even
6:20
if just for six to seven months.
6:22
More experiences, opportunities to kind
6:24
of just be out more versus sitting in
6:26
the house a lot. You know, even here
6:28
during those colder months, we try to
6:30
find places to go. But um I mean, you
6:34
know, it's more of the same old same
6:35
old. Not really too much going on during
6:37
those colder months. So, I think it'll
6:40
be nice to just have a wealth of
6:41
experiences to go and uh take part in.
6:44
I I can definitely agree with that. I
6:47
think it'll definitely help me to also
6:50
like conquer like some of like my fears.
6:53
It's not the easiest thing for me to get
6:54
out and make friends and be social. And
6:57
here it's like comfortable. you know,
7:00
we've been here long enough to know our
7:02
ways around here, family here, friends,
7:05
and all of that things, but when you're
7:06
in a completely new environment, you
7:09
have to get out and explore new areas,
7:13
and you have to get out and meet new
7:15
people. And I think that it'd be really
7:18
nice to experience that. To be honest,
7:20
I'm also just very interested in some of
7:23
like the excursions. Obviously, like the
7:25
theme parks and things like that, but
7:27
like the parks, strawberry farms,
7:29
different like nature walks and nature
7:32
parks, just things that we can see there
7:35
that we may not necessarily be able to
7:37
see here. Even just something like
7:39
SeaWorld, I think it's amazing. Like we
7:41
have aquariums here, but they're just
7:44
not the same in terms of the type of
7:46
things that we can see and do there. And
7:49
so being able to teach the kids about
7:51
all the different wildlife there in
7:54
Florida and in a tropical state versus
7:57
here where we are even like ocean life
8:00
because we're surrounded by lakes, not
8:02
oceans. I think it's just a like a huge
8:04
and complete difference in lifestyle and
8:07
scenery and experience things that I
8:10
don't want us to like shy away from.
8:11
When you open your mind up to so many
8:13
more things, you can really truly figure
8:15
out what you're truly interested in. You
8:18
have more options, you know, to actually
8:20
choose from versus limiting it to just
8:23
what is around you. So, I'm definitely
8:26
excited to see what type of interest we
8:28
and our children take to once we get out
8:31
there. They have like a a gator gator
8:33
land. Like we've never done Gatorland
8:35
and I can't even imagine me getting that
8:37
close to alligator. But even something
8:40
like that, like you never know. So it's
8:42
going to be really cool to just
8:44
experience all those different things
8:46
and even consider where we want to one
8:49
day retire, you know, maybe move out of
8:54
this state to a different state later,
8:56
you know, we just we don't know. So just
8:58
being able to experience those things I
9:00
think would be a benefit for for all of
9:03
us as a family. What are like our fears
9:06
going into this?
9:07
I'm not really afraid of anything. I
9:09
guess I'm more so concerned about the
9:12
commitment, you know, if there's like a
9:15
I don't know, something that we don't
9:16
like. I have to deal with some stupid
9:17
neighbor or something. So or just um
9:19
maybe the apartment is nasty or anything
9:23
like that. You know, we already
9:24
committed to it. So, you just kind of
9:26
have to deal with it versus um here we
9:29
already know what we what we bought. You
9:31
know, we get to um work on fixing up the
9:35
thing that we already have. So, there we
9:37
be just taking on brand new commitments.
9:40
And I guess that uh it could be just a
9:42
lot of money. I mean, I'm more so
9:44
prepared for it, but you just never
9:45
really know what you are prepared for
9:46
until you actually end the situation.
9:49
So, I don't want to get out there and
9:51
just get so overwhelmed by the possible
9:54
experiences that we just start going
9:56
kind of crazy with money.
9:59
So, yeah, I would say that.
10:00
Yeah, I can definitely agree with that.
10:02
Definitely like the living situation and
10:06
everything. One of my fears is
10:09
definitely like where we're going to end
10:11
up staying because we haven't like we've
10:13
been in the area like surrounding the
10:16
parks, but we haven't really explored
10:20
like um like actually living there long
10:22
term. Like staying at a hotel or on a
10:24
resort is completely different. So
10:26
that's definitely something that I'm a
10:28
little bit nervous about too. Haven't
10:30
been able to explore like the apartment
10:32
that we are considering like for a long
10:35
period of time. We have been visiting a
10:37
couple of them like our last two or
10:39
three times that we were in Florida and
10:42
we visited a few, you know, apartments.
10:44
We pretty much been considering the same
10:46
area until we've been exploring that
10:48
same area. But we don't know what it's
10:51
like like having to drive those streets
10:53
every single day outside of just going
10:54
and navigating to the parks and then
10:57
like the neighbors and the night life
11:00
and all of that. So definitely going to
11:02
be something new and something that I
11:04
think is a valid reason to be nervous.
11:06
But also our home here, I think of the
11:08
things like what if the what if the
11:10
pipes freeze or what if a tree blow
11:13
down, you know, all types of things like
11:15
that. Luckily, we have like friends and
11:17
we have family that will be, you know,
11:20
here and, you know, watching our home
11:23
and all of that. And my husband's also
11:25
going to be traveling here monthly. So,
11:28
it's definitely going to be watched
11:30
over, protected, but it's, you know,
11:32
nobody loves your home the way that you
11:34
do. So, those like maintenance things
11:36
that we we do every single month and
11:39
things like that for our home,
11:40
especially in the winter months. I'm
11:41
hoping that the homekeeper is going to
11:44
take the same type of due diligence for
11:47
our home as we would as well. How are we
11:50
preparing for the move currently? Well,
11:53
mainly saving up money and uh also just
11:56
getting everything in order like uh
12:00
yeah, money mainly money saving up. Uh
12:04
so that that way when we get there
12:05
everything is already paid for way in
12:07
advance,
12:09
months and months in advance. So that's
12:12
all that's all been on my mind. That's
12:13
the one thing that I think the first of
12:15
most for the two of us in terms of
12:17
preparation and everything for him like
12:19
I said is like the saving and the
12:21
budgeting and making sure that we are
12:24
like paid ahead and everything and so
12:28
that is like his top main thing as far
12:31
as preparation and then for me probably
12:34
like I don't even know everything my
12:36
mind is just all over the place. So,
12:39
first um thing that I consider is like
12:42
homeschool and everything. We typically
12:45
start back up in August with our next
12:49
level curriculum and everything. And of
12:51
course, the beauty of homeschool is that
12:52
we can pack it up and travel with it.
12:55
And so, that's been like one of the
12:57
biggest things that I've been mentally
12:59
preparing for with children. A lot of
13:01
times once there's like a change in
13:03
routine, it can affect them. And so
13:05
that's one of the things I've been
13:06
trying to read up on and figure out how
13:08
to prepare for the move, how to get the
13:11
children prepared for it as well. Other
13:13
thing is like home life and things like
13:16
thinking of like some of the seasonal
13:17
things that we'll have to wrap up before
13:19
we move in terms of like making sure
13:21
that the home is clean and optimized and
13:24
everything for us to be away for a
13:26
little while. Family um who's going to
13:30
be checking in on the home and keeping
13:32
up with the home while we're away. All
13:34
of this is a type of stuff that comes to
13:36
mind in terms of prepper. Are are you
13:38
serious? And then also like packing. I'm
13:40
so ready to start packing. If you've
13:42
seen any of my other like vacation prep
13:45
videos, you know I start like 60 days in
13:47
advance just packing for us to go
13:51
somewhere for 2 weeks. So I feel like
13:53
for us to be going somewhere for months
13:56
on end, I should have already like I
13:58
feel like I'm behind. Of course, we're
13:59
going to have some of that content
14:00
coming up. the kids are like taking over
14:04
this video. One of the not so common
14:06
things I've been doing to prepare is
14:08
like the content creation side of things
14:09
because I do have a separate channel for
14:12
homemaking and motherhood. And so a lot
14:14
of my content on there is centered
14:16
around being here in the home and
14:18
working in the home. So, trying to plan
14:22
out my content calendar and how I'm
14:24
going to like transition the content and
14:27
some of the content that I can like
14:29
pre-record, especially like the seasonal
14:31
things that I typically do like fall,
14:33
Christmas, Valentine's Day, all of that
14:36
type of stuff. It's another thing that
14:37
I've been trying to prepare for. There
14:40
was like a timeline on when we could
14:42
actually apply for the apartment that we
14:45
are currently looking at. And that
14:47
window I believe actually opens up this
14:50
week for us to finally be able to like
14:52
secure the place that we are looking at.
14:55
So like that is the literal aspect of
14:58
where we are in the process. And then
15:00
once that's done, I'm sure we'll like go
15:03
from there. So it's going to be a new
15:06
and fun and exciting journey for sure.
15:08
And we're just going to take you guys
15:09
along with us the entire way. So, if you
15:13
enjoyed this video and you are
15:14
interested in seeing more content like
15:16
this, again, we would love for you to
15:18
subscribe and I also hope that you would
15:20
like this video because it helps us to
15:23
know what type of content resonates with
15:24
you guys, but it also helps us and that
15:27
we can reach more families and be able
15:29
to help them as well. So, subscribe and
15:31
like this video and that's going to be
15:34
all. We will see you guys in the next
15:35
one. Thank you guys for watching. Bye.
