i always know when it's time to declutter my home when I clean up and it seems like as soon as I clean up the
0:06
house is messy again And no matter how much I try to clean the messes just pop
0:12
right back up So today I am getting rid of all of that mess so that I can have
0:19
an easy and efficient deep clean this weekend So loading the dishwasher
0:26
vacuuming sweeping mopping all of those things are the type of things I do every
0:31
single day And if you're interested in seeing one of my daily clean with me videos I will link it down below in the
0:36
description box just in case you're interested But some things like this like all this stuff that has piled up on
0:43
top of the fridge and the shelves over the sinks this is the type of stuff that
0:49
instead of me cleaning every day I kind of contribute to that mess every single day There are things that we just use
0:56
every day like my son's toys some of my devotion books my son's learning
1:01
workbooks These are things that we kind of just use every day So I typically
1:06
like toss them in a spot where I can just grab them again instead of always
1:12
putting it back in its home and at the end of the week or the end of the month it just creates a very cluttered and
1:20
overwhelming environment I like to say if it doesn't have a home then it does not belong And that's the way that I go
1:27
about decluttering and getting rid of things in terms of throwing it away A little hack that I found to be helpful
1:34
with decluttering is keeping a little basket in one of the areas of the home that gets the messiest so that I can use
1:39
it to carry a bunch of things at once and put them back where they belong I also removed some hanging decor as well
1:47
as a few other pieces of home decor that didn't really serve a huge purpose for
1:52
me anymore Well there are a few things in terms of home decor in the home that
1:58
has some meaning to it or sparks some type of feeling creates a happy mood And
2:03
there are some that I thought was nice and I grabbed it and then after putting it in the home I felt like it was just
2:11
not really adding much value to the home So sometimes I will go and redonate
2:17
pieces of art or pieces of home decor that I just don't like anymore or have
2:22
gone out of season This keeps the home having a fresh look because I do believe
2:28
there is a such thing as having too much home decor I especially feel this way in
2:34
terms of cheaplymade home decor If the piece is expensive then I'm not going to
2:40
purchase a lot of it I'm only going to purchase it if it has true value or
2:45
meaning to me But if I'm constantly purchasing affordable or cheap home
2:51
decor there's a huge chance I'm going to over buy and overfill up the home to
2:56
where it no longer looks uniform and it creates a more cheap looking home if
3:02
that makes sense So I had to check myself in terms of home decor and in
3:07
terms of throw blankets As you can see I have way too many throw blankets and
3:14
they just make me feel cozy but they don't know I belong in the family room So I'm taking two upstairs and leaving
3:20
two downstairs Moving on to one of the ugliest messes of the home and that is
3:26
our hallway and cold closet It always looks terrible after winter season And I
3:33
know that's not an excuse but it's just a pile up of I don't know what So this
3:38
little bench is next to the steps next to the basement and the garage So I have some food pantry items that I need to
3:45
place inside of a pantry cabinet I also always place a few things that I need to
3:52
remember to carry up the stairs on that bench since it is next to the stairs And
3:57
then I also keep things that I have to take to the garage or to the basement because it's kind of just next to
4:04
everything Problem is I don't always place it in its home Instead I let it
4:09
pile up So I'm grabbing my little basket and stuffing it all in there so that I can carry it upstairs at once because
4:16
all of this stuff here goes upstairs And I'm just going to carry it all up there
4:22
put it in its home and then I'll come back down Another thing that piles up around this hallway area is our shoes
4:31
because the front door is next to this hallway and the side door So we've been
4:37
placing our shoes up under this little bench and because of that it accumulates
4:43
a lot of dust and debris and dirt and things like that So now that I have
4:49
placed the shoes back like on the shoe rack I'm just going to give it a quick little sweep and a quick little mop so
4:57
that I can move on to getting the stuff off the top of the coat closet I already
5:03
put the coats back where they belong which is a large like plastic tote bin
5:09
that we keep in the garage until winter season comes back around But I need to do the same for all of our hats and
5:15
scarves and gloves Every winter I keep a bin of clean scarves and hats and things
5:21
like that for us to grab on the go And I keep them at the top of the closet But
5:27
now it's time for me to store them inside of a vacuum sealing bag so that I
5:32
can place it in the garage as well until next winter season I'm just going to put
5:38
the little basket back in the top of the closet because I'm pretty sure I will find some use for it at some point as
5:45
well So now for this little coat hanger that's next to the side door in the
5:50
guest bathroom It's been getting a big pile up of purses and backpacks and
5:56
store bags and hats and it's in the worst place possible It's pretty low
6:03
down So it's like mess right next to my head whenever I'm walking in this
6:09
hallway And there are three doors over here The guest bathroom the garage door and the basement door So it's just a lot
6:15
of traffic and commotion in this area So I'm just moving the shelf up some so
6:21
that it's at least level with the top of the guest bathroom door and it is going
6:26
to leave some holes in the walls But because we just redid the guest bathroom ceiling because we have popcorn ceilings
6:33
we now have to repaint the bathroom walls and ceilings and it's going to be the same color So that'll give me the
6:38
chance to patch up these holes and repaint them as well Our front room is one that I don't spend a lot of time in
6:46
so I kind of neglect it a little bit but my husband spends some time in here with our son and they play video games and it
6:53
kind of accumulates a lot of dust because our dog runs through here as well So dust and dog hairs things like
7:01
that is typically what I'm cleaning in this room But as you can see I have to get my son's video games out of here as
7:08
well as some of my husband's like electronics and things like that and place them back in its home So I'm
7:14
packing away some things in the box that I can carry into my husband's office
7:19
that is downstairs And then I can also place some of the things that he does not want
7:26
in his office inside of the garage So I'll take the box downstairs let him
7:32
pick out the things that he wants to place in his office and then tape the rest up to go inside of the garage I'm
7:38
also keeping a little wooden box underneath the table for him so that he can have access to like his controllers
7:45
and things but they're concealed away inside of this little box And then back to some of the home decor that I've
7:52
taken off the walls that I no longer like like to look at anymore I'm just
7:58
taking those in the garage as well because I want to load them in the car and go and donate them to like a resale
8:04
shop or something So now I'm just going to get rid of some of that dust and then
8:10
I'm going to do some deeper cleaning and some more dusting over the weekend But
8:16
as of right now some of this dust just has to go or else my allergies are going
8:22
to hate me for it So just some light dusting really quick the tables entertainment system the surfaces and
8:30
I'm also going to go ahead and do the windows I want this weekend to be a more
8:37
relaxing type of clean So any of the more annoying things that's what I'm
8:42
going to be tackling today The more annoying task putting things back where they belong throwing things out and
8:50
creating donation boxes all on the first floor That was the goal today But once I
8:57
finish up here I will have accomplished a lot of decluttering and I still have
9:03
to do the second story of the home Going to be tackling some of the wardrobe and
9:09
throwing away some of my old clothes that I don't fit anymore One of the secrets to a stressfree homemaking life
9:17
is decluttering and just getting rid of a lot of the mess a lot of the clutter
9:23
the distractions and things that we don't necessarily need Not only does it
9:29
make the house look a lot better it makes it more efficient It helps you to
9:35
be able to clean better and it also gets rid of some of the anxiety that just
9:41
comes with having a lot of overwhelm That overwhelm can just come from having
9:47
to always pick up things having to clean up things And some of that overwhelm just comes from having too many choices
9:55
to make and too many things to choose from and just a ton of things
10:00
surrounding you The more open your space is the less things there are for you to
10:06
tidy and the less choices you have to make the less overwhelmed you are
10:13
I always know it's time for me to declutter when I feel like I keep
10:18
cleaning up the home and then very shortly after I'm done cleaning the house is a mess again or there is more
10:26
stuff than I can actually clean and I spend more time cleaning than actually
10:32
enjoying my home I also know it's time to declutter when I find myself having
10:38
to buy more storage bins more storage drawers when I can't find what I'm
10:44
looking for or when something does not have a home I like to say if it doesn't have a home then it does not belong So
10:51
when I find myself having so much stuff that I don't even have anywhere to put
10:56
everything then I know some things have to go So I took the initiative to just
11:03
go ahead and clean out and declutter my entire home First I did the entire
11:08
downstairs and now I'm back and I'm ready to do the upstairs Today we're
11:13
going to be doing my husband and I's bedroom our 4-year-old son's bedroom and
11:19
the homeschool room which is also my office I'm going to be doing the closets
11:25
some of our bookshelves as well as the nightstands and just getting rid of some things that we don't need anymore And
11:32
that's been tucked away in a few of the corners of the home So inside of my husband and I bedroom I decided to start
11:39
with the top of our closet which basically just had a ton of blankets and they pretty much have been there since I
11:45
put them there I never took them out so they were pretty much like spare blankets So now I'm kind of just
11:51
deciphering to see which blankets I want to keep and which ones I'm going to throw out These two blankets here as you
11:58
can see they are very thick So I am going to keep them but I'm going to put them away so that they're only being
12:06
used in the winter time So they'll end up being stored in the garage in this
12:11
very large canvas bag that I actually purchased from Shine when I was placing
12:17
a clothing order I decided to leave out two sets of summer linen and I placed it
12:23
inside of this pink canvas bag on the corner And the rest of the sheets I am
12:29
throwing away All except for one set that I will keep just in case we ever
12:34
have any overnight guests So that's going to be tucked away with the winter blankets So once I got all of those
12:41
blankets out you can see how much space it took up Now I have more space and it
12:46
looks a ton better I also hung up some of my husband's summer jackets because
12:52
it still gets chilly some nights and I colorcoordinated his polos or his
12:58
college shirts that he typically wear to work meetings or to church And I did the same with my clothing once I threw some
13:07
away and took some out This pile will go to the women's shelter
13:12
Now as you can see this closet already looks a lot different and a lot more
13:18
organized and tidy And this I can actually live with So at this point I
13:25
think I'm done with the closet and I am moving on to the drawers specifically
13:31
the undergarment drawer And I didn't like this organizer So I asked my husband to cut some cedar wood pieces in
13:39
the garage so I can use them as separators inside of the drawer And it turned out to look just fine and it
13:46
works for now And then I went ahead and started decluttering our bookshelf that
13:52
pretty much just held a bunch of random things inside of bins So I emptied out
13:58
both the bins and started organizing them to fit them inside one small wooden
14:04
box Everything else I threw away Once I finished up with the closet
14:09
and the wardrobe this is how it was looking I placed my purse bag and some
14:14
of my personal items back inside the closet I put our summer linen inside our
14:21
summer jacket and some of my husband's dress shoes And here is a clutterfree
14:27
bookshelf And this is everything I threw away Meanwhile in the homeschool room
14:35
slash my office I began decluttering and going through some of the books on my
14:41
bookshelf just putting away some that I can either throw away or the ones that
14:47
don't have too many highlights or marks inside of them which you see me checking for like in the pages I can just go
14:54
ahead and donate or take to the library or you know to a shelter or something I
15:01
don't know But I'm just going to go through them and pack some away so that I can give them to someone who may enjoy
15:08
them as much as I did Many of these books I read them once maybe twice some
15:14
of them even three times and I didn't read them again and I don't plan on it I
15:20
have my books that I love so much that I will never part ways with But then again
15:25
there are some of them that I am not going to be keeping So yes I am just
15:31
working my way through that And here was the final product of the books that I
15:36
did keep on the shelf And it looks a lot better and of course clutter-free I also
15:42
checked the drawers to see if anything need to be thrown away and went through the closet and minimized it to just a
15:49
few boxes There were some large totes across the floor but now there are just a few boxes at the top of the shelf With
15:57
my husband and I room done and the homeschool room done now I can tackle my
16:02
son's room He has a lot of things that are long overdue to be decluttered
16:08
Starting with some of his winter coats and jackets some of his long sleeve
16:13
sweaters and of course a snowsuit that we're not using anymore So I'm just
16:19
taking out some of the things that have to be put away Not so much things that
16:24
have to be thrown away I went through his wardrobe as well as ours and took out a lot of things to throw away but
16:31
these are some of the things that I'm not going to toss but I am going to put away for winter time He also has a ton
16:39
of stuffed animals So it's time for me to pack Mickey and his friends away And
16:45
I'm just going to leave out a few of his favorites I have noticed that some of these he pretty much just keep around
16:51
like it's decoration because I noticed he doesn't even play with them He's not a huge fan of stuffed animals except
16:58
just a few of his favorites So I packed them away inside a large duffel bag so
17:04
that I don't know we'll keep them Maybe maybe not We'll see But for now they are
17:09
going to go inside of the garage So that already cleared up a whole side of his
17:16
closet basically So I replaced it with like a little hanging organizer that I
17:21
took out of my room and then I put some of his shoes on there
17:27
This is what the closet looked like I did keep a diaper bag and a puzzle
17:33
organizer as well as an extra blanket at the top of the closet Inside of these
17:38
drawers he has some of his activities like his Montasauri puzzles and
17:43
activities any of his learning things that we like to keep away He also has his railroad tracks He has his bath toys
17:54
and his express yourself eggs inside of here as well as some wooden trays for
18:01
his monastery activities and then one more spare extra drawer So this didn't
18:06
really need any tidying but I placed the stuffed animals we decided to keep out
18:11
right by his bedside The last thing that I really need to do inside of Noah's
18:17
room is to declutter and go through his books on his bookshelf A lot of these
18:22
books have just accumulated over the years I went through them about a year
18:28
ago like around the time we first moved into this house but it's time for me to
18:33
go through them again So I'm just going through seeing what we can donate or what we can pack away for a future child
18:40
and what we can also throw away I'm going through to see if any of the pages
18:46
are damaged so that if they are we can throw them away And then those that are not we can decide if we want to donate
18:52
By the way if you are still here and still watching with me thank you so much for being here I truly appreciate you
18:59
And if you are enjoying this video don't forget to give it a thumbs up And of course I would invite you to subscribe
19:06
to my channel for more content just like this I share motherhood homemaking
19:11
homeschool organizing cleaning grocery hauls and days in the life And of course
19:17
I would love to have you here But here is what the final look of Noah's bookshelf looked like These are the
19:23
books that we're going to throw away or donate And here is what we're keeping I
19:28
love his I believe I can by Grace Meyers And then we also put a few books that
19:33
kind of just didn't fit well on the bookshelf in the back And then on the side he has some of his devotions some
19:40
of his read and learn like baby or toddler kidfriendly Bibles over there on
19:46
the side And then in the front we organized all of his reading books by
19:52
like Dr Seuss Disney Sesame Street and some of them we actually had double of
19:59
because they were gifted to us and you know we couldn't throw away the ones that were gifted But I think eventually
20:05
I will find another child to donate them to But for now we're just keeping them
20:11
Either way it you know looks a lot more tidy And then below on the bottom I put his readaloud books Those are the ones
20:18
that you turn the page and you press the buttons and they read aloud to you And
20:24
he likes those a lot We also have a pile of books that I'm going to take inside the homeschool room that are just
20:31
learning books And so we typically use them in the homeschool room So I am
20:36
going to carry those inside there and place them on his bookshelf that's
20:42
inside the homeschooler room But that pretty much sums up part two of the
20:47
whole house declutter I managed to do my husband and I closet Noah's closet the
20:52
homeschooler room closet as well as the bookshelf inside of each room Can't even
20:58
believe I'm showing you guys this because honestly it is quite embarrassing But that's okay because we
21:07
are going to turn this into
21:16
[Music] this Outside looking in with all the
21:22
cabinets closed the kitchen looks just fine But once you open up these cabinets it's not looking too good in there So
21:30
I'm going to take care of it today It is long overdue So let me show you guys what I picked up from Amazon I picked up
21:37
one of these wrap organizers that you use for aluminum foil or Ziploc bags I
21:43
also picked up a two-tier under sink organizer my paper towel holder and of
21:50
course some storage containers and canisters for the pantry I also have
21:55
these boxes that I picked up from Michaels And you can pretty much use these boxes for anything They're perfect
22:00
for storage They're durable You can paint them if you want And then you can also create labels that you just slide
22:06
right into the top there And I like the design of them because they're stackable They come with lids Then again I can
22:13
interchange the labels that you just slide right into the top So I'm going to go ahead and just
22:29
wig So all of the canisters are drying So while that's drying I'm going to go ahead and start emptying out the pantry
22:39
[Music]
22:47
[Music] So there's not nearly enough space on
22:55
this countertop So I think I'm going to just start with this and then move on to
23:01
the next shelf because that'll be easier for me
23:06
[Music]
23:26
loadst drive [Music]
23:35
I get [Music]
23:55
[Music]
24:01
ready Here's where we are so far In this box I have way more red bean seasoning
24:08
than I need because I ordered it from Amazon and whenever Amazon sends groceries they send it in bulk if it's
24:14
like small size like this So I have a ton So I just stuffed them all inside
24:20
this little box And then here I have like a bunch of basically like instant sides So I think I'll end up getting a
24:26
separate container just for like the ones in these type of packaging and then a separate one for the boxes because
24:32
normally we don't use these I haven't used these since Noah was like 1 years old He used to like these So what I do
24:39
use are like the bigger shells craft mac and cheese So I'll probably put those in front and put these in a separate
24:45
container And then we also have like the instant mashed potatoes and pasta salad So this is all like just instant size
24:50
inside this box And then these are like the spaghetti the lasagna pini
24:57
pasta rice and egg noodles Pasta we don't even use that often So I may or
25:04
may not get a container for that one but the linguini pasta we use more often So I just need to get like a taller one to
25:11
put that one in like these ones So there is all of the pasta So that is one shelf
25:18
done so far
25:27
[Music]
25:46
Hey huh [Music]
26:05
[Music] So here I've got some jasmine rice and
26:13
some allpurpose flour We got crackers sautans graham crackers rice crackers We
26:19
always do Mexican night so I think this will make it so much easier for us to know what we do and don't have So I'll
26:26
be able to tell what type of taco shells we have and then keep this filled up since taco and Mexican Tuesdays are
26:33
things that we pretty much do every week Chips is another thing in our house that we do often But I do think that what I'm
26:40
going to do is instead of having this in the box I think it'll help us to not over buy chips if we just keep like one
26:47
specific type of chip inside of like a canister So I think that I'm going to leave this out to see if I can do that
26:53
instead But we also always have little snacks So this will be our snack basket And I think that this is another way for
26:59
us to not go overboard Whatever can fit in here should be the snacks that we have And if it doesn't fit in here then
27:06
we don't buy snacks until the following month or until this is empty So we just keep like little packs of cookies and
27:12
crackers little cakes or even fruit snacks and things like that inside of
27:17
this canister And then this is our sugar canister that we keep next to like the
27:22
coffee and tea You guys my husband was getting on me because I thought that I was putting like cocoa pebbles inside of
27:30
here and it turns out it was like cocoa pebbles and chocolate rice crispy treats So well I didn't know But this is going
27:37
to just stay as it is I think it'll be a good idea to like keep like whatever little leftover cereals inside this one
27:43
so that I'll always be able to fill this one up So if ever this one gets low then I'll pour it in here And I'm using the
27:50
lid for this one that has the little
27:55
spout on it

Here is what the kitchen pantry looks like once I organized all of the food
30:21
inside of the canisters So now I'm just going to move on to cleaning under the
30:26
sink I'm just spraying it down with bleach and trying to remove some of the rust stains There's also a lot of
30:32
chipped paint stains that I can't do too much about So I'm just doing the best I can until we replace the kitchen sink
30:40
And then I went ahead and organized all of the cleaning products on the two-tier
30:45
organizer At this point I am just about finished I just have to organize the
30:50
junk drawer and install the paper towel holder And then I'll be able to give you guys a final look of what the kitchen
30:57
organization looks like before and after

Today we're going to be cleaning out my linen closet and organizing it a little bit more This is the closet that's in
32:28
our upstairs hallway near the bathroom and the bedrooms We keep all of our towels our toiletries hair and skin care
32:35
products and all of those things inside of it So it's been a mess since we moved in here about almost a year ago I'm

33:52
Baby this is what it looks like with no mess in it at all So let's just savor
33:58
this moment a little bit because well I don't know how long it's going to be before I mess it up again Hopefully I
34:04
can get some organization going where I won't have to worry about that So let's get into going through everything and
34:11
figuring out how I want to organize So this time around I didn't buy anything I want to see what I can do with what I have around the house and then if I need
34:18
anything else I'll buy some more because I have a tendency to over buy things or just have laying around For instance
34:24
this was a cake stand It was like a bottom to this And so I kept it after I
34:29
broke it because that's just what I do I need to stop doing that I'm working on
34:34
myself And so now I'm going to use it as like a little kind of like a little turntable I know they have little pieces
34:40
that you can put on the bottom of this to turn it into a turntable And because I like the design of it I think that's
34:46
what I'm going to end up doing But I do like the design of this And then I also got this little one which was also a a
34:53
cake stand So I have those All of these baskets I'm going to repurpose after I clean them out And then I also have like
34:59
a little plastic one here that has been sitting here holding junk that I can repurpose too That is how I'm about to
35:05
do this on a budget Okay All of that stuff and all of the stuff needs someplace to go So let's get started So
35:12
I just emptied out everything out of this bin and threw a lot of it away even some things that's like kind of open but
35:19
still some left I think I'm going to throw it away and just start over when it comes to these types of products because I have a lot of different kind
35:25
of products and I don't use a lot of them So I'm going to probably get rid of them So let's see what we can do what we
35:32
can fit on here So I'm going to start with some of the things that I know for a fact I'm not getting rid of and that I
35:38
want to keep and go from there
35:44
[Music]
35:54
Give me my daily bread Help me to walk alone
36:03
ahead Though I walk through the darkest valley I will feel no love Oh my my
36:14
mind Woke up this morning Here's where I am currently So
36:20
in this little plastic bin I just have a bunch of little combs and stuff inside
36:26
of here that we use for our hair So a bunch of little combs This little basket is my husband's So this is the stuff
36:32
that he don't really want us touching and he don't want to get it lost with our stuff So this is like just his
36:39
little facial cleaner and beard oils and whatnot And on here I put like some skin
36:46
care and face stuff And then back there I put some of the taller like 8 oz
36:52
bottles of hair and skin care stuff This is like all of my hot tools like my hair
36:58
dryer um my husband's clippers my wine curlers and then in there I just have a
37:04
bunch of first aid stuff So that's what I have Now here's what I did with the towels So I put them inside this little
37:11
bin that I had and kind of just rolled them up and stood them in there And I haven't decided if I wanted to like lay
37:17
this on like the side so that we can grab them out easier or leave them like
37:22
that For now I kind of like it like this And then I'll put another basket here for the washcloth As far as like these
37:29
go I'm not 100% sure that I like this What I think I'm going to do instead is get one of those wicker basket That's
37:35
Noah's wicker basket He has it for his toys but I think I'm going to get that and put some square organizers in it and
37:41
then put all of that stuff in there and probably store it under there because I don't quite like looking at it on the
37:46
shelf I put this basket up top because
37:52
I'm going to put some towels in there like hand towels and face towels just
37:58
like how I rolled up some of the bath towels This is where I put the little products and so I couldn't put the
38:05
products like right next to each other because the closet was too narrow So they kind of had this little diagonal
38:11
thing going on So maybe I'll put some little tiny drawers right here for like
38:18
Q-tips and cotton swabs and things like that which we currently have in the bathroom pantry But there was a space
38:25
back there that I kind of just stuck my rollers in the back so that kind of worked out They're kind of hidden So
38:30
there's that And then that's where I put all of the combs and brushes And what I
38:36
like about the space that's still left over is that now I can organize this stuff better So I'm going to get like
38:42
some drawer organizers kind of a bunch of different sizes And so then I can separate like specific combs by types
38:51
and brushes by types and ponytail holders hair clips things like that inside a bunch of different like
38:57
containers maybe with like lids or drawers I'll probably do some type of drawer system And then down there is the
39:04
first aid kit and hot tools Down there is still empty too under the shelf
39:10
Basically it's a lot more organized now And I must say like these round
39:17
things do look a ton better than having everything spread out across This is not
39:24
so bad in my opinion for like me not having a plan me not buying any specific
39:30
type of like organization stuff So of course let me know what you guys think like how I did I don't think I did too
39:36
bad based on like what I had on hand I didn't go out and purchase anything new
39:41
I literally just used what I had in the house and found a way to be creative and make the best of it and make the closet
39:47
just look tidy and organized So did a lot of decluttering in there got rid of
39:52
stuff that we weren't using anymore and made it to where it's a little more like
39:58
functional now So you know that's really the goal That's what I was going for
40:04
It's very much possible You don't have to spend a ton of money to organize your home and organize your pantries It's
40:09
just as simple as you know using what you have on hand and finding ways to make it work So that is what I did and
40:15
I'm pretty happy with it Creating a toy rotation and bin system made my life far less chaotic and my anxiety a lot less
40:23
worse Having all of my 3-year-old's toys easily accessible for him at all times
40:29
made it easier for him to just play with all of the toys and have them all over the house And many people will say that
40:36
it's just parenthood and that's just life raising toddlers But I found that there is a way just to eliminate some of
40:43
the chaos some of the craziness and keep your home a lot more tidy when you
40:48
create a toy rotation and bin system Today it's time for me to get control of
40:55
and organize them a little bit more So let's get into it

44:01
Here I have his large action figures or medium action figures And then in here I
44:09
have some of his mediumsiz vehicles and things that go Here in the smaller bin I
44:16
have some of his smaller vehicles and transportation things that go And then
44:22
here I have the tiny vehicles and things that go So today I have realized that he
44:28
has way too many cars because here I have a even larger bin for some of his
44:35
even larger like cars and vehicles and things like that I have all of his
44:41
little block vehicles So he likes to stack up and make different type of vehicles with like these little blocks
44:47
So I just gave it its own bin because they're pretty you know decent sized and
44:53
he has like a few more blocks that I can put inside of that bin Here I have a
44:58
bunch of his little tiny figurines and tiny action figures and things like that
45:04
Here today I realized that he does not have a lot of bath toys So this is going
45:09
to be his bath toy bin So that when he takes his bath we can just pull this bin out Those are all of his little stuffed
45:16
animals that he picked up from Disney World So I'm going to take those upstairs and place them elsewhere But
45:22
for now I just tossed them in there Here is some of his wooden food by Melissa
45:28
and Doug So I just stuck those in there because sometimes he likes to play with
45:33
those And he has a few more of those So I'll be able to feel that being up a little bit more
45:39
This is his plastic Mickey Railroad railway track that he likes to build And
45:45
he has a few more pieces that goes to that I have no idea where they are Once I find them I'll be able to put them in
45:51
here That's something else he likes to build and play with In this extra large bin are toys that are huge to where like
45:59
there's no way they're going to fit in any bin He has like one of those really
46:04
huge Tonka trucks in here He's got like a rocket ship here This is a fire
46:12
station It's about as tall as this Ben Um I've got like bubble wands
46:20
guitars boss and all of these little pieces here They build something bigger So he's
46:28
got like a Mickey Mouse clubhouse and Mickey Mouse fun house So all of his really large toys go in here So what I'm
46:35
going to do is let Noah pick out a couple toys from each bin for his first
46:43
toy rotation with our new bin system And they're going to go inside of this little wicker crate right there because
46:49
we keep that in his room So that's his toy bin that we keep in his bedroom And then that small basket there is a small
46:55
basket that we keep in the family room for the toys that he bring down from his bedroom to tidy up which will empty into
47:03
the wicker bean at the end of each week So I will let him pick out a few toys for his first toy rotation with the new
47:10
bin system And then I will get the lid placed on these place them on the shelves and then I will write down
47:16
what's in all the bins so that I can create labels for them You happy with the toys you picked up Mhm
47:22
Here is what he chose to take upstairs He chose the bin with all the plastic
47:29
vehicle building set inside of it And then he chose for his action figures his
47:34
Mario his Batman his PJ Mask Catboy and Gecko In the back he chose his small
47:41
emergency vehicles the fire truck the ambulance and the helicopter And then
47:47
for his mediumsiz vehicle he chose that Mario and Yoshi For his small
47:54
figurines those are what he chose All the like Mario characters So I guess
47:59
that's like a theme that he has going on right now is like PJ Mask Mario emergency vehicles and like a
48:07
random superhero in there So that's what he has And I assume Are you Are you
48:14
happy with what you picked Yes you are Mhm I'm kind of happy Okay we'll put
48:22
them back We're taking them
48:31
upstairs Here is the large bin that has like all the
48:37
really large toys in it And this bin has all of the very large vehicles on this
48:45
shelf These were the medium-sized
48:50
vehicles And then up here all of the smaller beans the animals the random
48:56
toys tiny figurines Mickey railway all
49:01
up here wooden food and tiny vehicles And then here is
49:09
the action figure box like the bigger ones and the smaller transportation
49:15
vehicles So that's the shelving that I currently have here in the laundry room
49:21
for his toys These are his bathroom toys and things that's going to go upstairs um for bath time So I'm taking that with
49:28
me So there large toys large vehicles
49:34
medium vehicles medium action figures there
49:39
small vehicles tiny action figures Mickey
49:45
Railroad wooden food tiny vehicles tiny animals tiny randoms So that is the bin
49:54
system that I created for toy rotation I'm so happy that I finally got it done
49:59
And now that I've organized all of Noah's toys I have no doubt that it will eliminate more chaos in our home A toy
50:06
rotation system is great And when everything has a home it's a lot easier You don't actually just completely dread
50:13
toy rotation day which I have for the past few months because it was just all
50:19
tossed inside of a large bin But I'm super happy that I was able to finally go ahead and get it all organized I
50:26
still have a little bit more work to do but as of right now I think that this is going to work for us Today I'm going to
50:32
be tackling my kitchen pantry which as you can see is very long overdue The last time I organized my kitchen pantry
50:39
was about 6 months ago And in doing so I was able to create a more efficient
50:45
kitchen pantry but it could definitely use some updating And after a while we kind of just started throwing things
50:51
well anywhere So I took out all of the containers that I still had left over purchased a few ones and washed them
50:58
down sat them on a counter to dry and then began to take everything out of the
51:04
cabinets Most of what doesn't really have a home is snacks So I am going to
51:11
start there This is about as much as I could fit on the counters So I'm just going to go ahead and get right into it
51:17
Here I'm just taking a lot of the small chip bags that we had and putting them into one container I used to use these
51:24
to put into my son's little lunch bag when he was going to church camp in the
51:29
summer But because he's not doing that anymore we don't need separate bags We can just do one container of the veggie
51:36
straws and then when we are going somewhere I can just put them inside like a small reusable pouch or sandwich
51:43
bag or you know something like that But this is going to get rid of you know having just so much more stuff stuff
51:50
stuffed inside of the cabinet I really dislike these tiny little bags We homeschool so it's really no need for
51:57
them in our home Um but you know every home is different This works better for me So I'm going to go ahead and put this
52:03
in the recycle bin And I'm going to do the same for these tortilla chips We do
52:08
have like taco Tuesdays and Mexican nights sometimes so we keep the tortilla
52:14
chips And then I love these cocoa roasted almonds Another one of my
52:20
favorite snacks So these are all basically snacks that we eat regularly I
52:26
only put things that we regularly eat inside of containers Anything that's not like something that I know for sure we
52:32
will be refilling I don't even bother to put into containers because I know that
52:38
there's not really a good chance that I'm going to be purchasing them again But for the most part we pretty much
52:45
repurchased the same things over and over again So I'm just organizing as much as I can The last time I organized
52:52
I didn't have a home for everything There were a few more things that I still needed you know to find containers
52:59
for So as I you know organize and go along I'm always trying to find ways to make it better over time
53:06
[Music] Now don't judge me here with the instant
53:12
mashed potatoes My husband he has been liking these but I can say that we really haven't touched these as well in
53:19
the past few months So I think it's about that time for me to throw them out But I'm going to put them in there
53:25
anyways and just see you know if we go back to them because well it's really
53:30
not the healthiest version It's just the laziest version Try not to judge me if you can
53:39
So here is how everything is looking so far That really didn't take me any time at all I just went through and took
53:44
everything out of the boxes and put them in a home The only thing I'll have to do is label these So moving along to the
53:51
next shelf in the home By the way if you're still watching thank you so much for being here I am a stay-at-home mom
53:59
wife and homemaker And I create motherhood motivational homemaking
54:04
organizing decluttering cleaning and homeschool videos Of course I would love
54:09
for you to stick around and subscribe to my channel I'm sure that you will find something here that you enjoy And I post
54:16
once or twice weekly and would love to connect with you So if you're enjoying this video don't forget to give it a
54:22
thumbs up And I do hope that you will subscribe and stick around as well
54:27
If you have not had the chance to see any of my previous declutter videos I'm going to link them below I have been
54:34
going on a mission to declutter everything in my home And this is the
54:40
third project I think I've tackled I did the entire downstairs the entire
54:45
upstairs Now I am doing the kitchen pantries and I want to next do my basement and my garage I'm just trying
54:52
to make a clutter-free more comfortable living space for my family I just want
54:58
some stress-free living and I think we all deserve that together So hey if you
55:04
two are on a project let me know below If you're going through and just getting rid of the mess and decluttering your
55:09
home I would love to hear about it It has definitely been transformative And
55:14
the thing that I love most about it is that I found a lot of things that I just
55:20
definitely didn't need but there was someone else that needed it more So being able to also help another family
55:28
and donate some things to like homeless shelters and things like that all while
55:33
making my home a bit more livable and stressfree has just been a pretty amazing thing for me Less is more and
55:42
one person's trash is another person's treasure So two really great things to
55:48
think of when you are decluttering your home So here I am making a ton of
55:53
progress I'm almost done with like the snacks and the pantries By the way kitchen pantry organization also helps a
56:02
ton with grocery shopping because you can actually see what you do need what you don't need what you already have and
56:08
what you're running low on without you know it all just being hidden all behind
56:14
like a bunch of mess As you can see based on how my pantry looked before as opposed to how it looks now I can
56:21
actually see everything now This looks a ton better And oh my gosh it helps so
56:26
much with my anxiety I am always in the kitchen I'm a homemaker I spend a lot of
56:31
time in the kitchen But if it's not you know clean or tidy clutter-free and
56:37
efficient I'm just I'm not I'm not going to be happy there okay I'm not going to be a happy homemaker And here on this
56:43
channel we're all about happy homemaking So I'm going to move along to my spice
56:49
cabinet The goal in the long run is to purchase like all of the same type of
56:55
spice cabinet containers and always refill it with the things that we use the most But I'm not there yet But that
57:01
is definitely on the list for a future project Until then I'm just trying to separate them and organize by type the
57:08
spices that we do use and then put them on like a turning spice trays or you can
57:14
really put anything in here Condiments beauty products whatever you feel I have a few of these in my linen closet as
57:19
well but I purchased these from Shine and they were only $3 each So yeah I
57:25
bought about maybe nine of them I mean they were $3 and they worked just fine
57:31
So definitely check out I think it's Sheen I know it's Sheen but for some reason I like to say Shine Check it out
57:38
for your home organization needs Sometimes you hit and sometimes you miss So I prefer Amazon but these here were
57:45
definitely a hit When purchasing products off of Sheen just make sure you always look at reviews photos and the
57:52
size dimensions of whatever it is you're shopping for and looking for to make sure it's the proper size and that it's
57:58
going to hold up to the quality of product that you are looking for But here is how it's looking a ton of a lot
58:04
better Both the spice cabinet and the kitchen pantry and I am very much
58:10
satisfied So make sure that you do subscribe and hit the notification bell
58:15
so that you'll be notified with my next home organization video or just to stick
58:20
around and see a day in the life or motherhood and homemaking video Again I post once or twice weekly and I would
58:27
love to have you here I hope that you enjoyed this video and that you found it to be helpful and motivational Thank you
58:33
again for being here I truly appreciate you and that will be all Until next time happy homemaking
