0:01
welcome to Motherhood and homemaking
0:04
here we are in the final week of our 30
0:06
days to a peaceful home and heart simple
0:09
and intentional living challenge for the
0:12
past 3 weeks we've spent time
0:14
decluttering simplifying our schedules
0:16
and learning about contentment and now
0:19
it is time for us to focus on living
0:22
intentionally and living intentionally
0:24
isn't just about having a clean home or
0:27
even a simpler schedule so today I am
0:29
going to be taking you guys along with
0:31
me as I tidy up my bedroom and prepare
0:35
for a new week if you are new here my
0:38

0:39

0:42

0:47

0:49

0:51
looking for some homemaking inspiration
0:53
and some motherhood motivation I try to
0:56
keep it very helpful realistic and
0:58
relatable around here and I would Absol
0:59
abolutely love for you to subscribe and
1:01
join the family but for today let's go
1:04
ahead and dive into today's clean with
1:07
me and homemaking challenge as always I
1:10
am going to be starting us off with the
1:12
bible verse Proverbs 16 verse3 says
1:17
commit to the Lord whatever you do and
1:18
He will establish your plans that
1:21
includes the way we care for our home
1:23
our time and our hearts the purpose of
1:26
this challenge has been to shed off some
1:29
of the things things that's just
1:30
unnecessary to make room for more of
1:33
what truly matters so for day one of
1:36
week four in our challenge or day 22 of
1:40
30 we were tasked with re-evaluating our
1:44
priorities and finding out what truly
1:47
matters that required us to take a step
1:49
back and reflect on what matters in our
1:52
home and in our lives it's so easy to
1:55
get caught up in the busy the Clutter
1:57
The NeverEnding to-do list but when we
1:59
slow down and realign with our values we
2:02
make space for what actually feels our
2:05
hearts for me that was about letting
2:07
completely go of a small business that
2:09
I've ran for about four to 5 years I
2:12
have felt so much joy in my homemaking
2:15
as well as creating content surrounding
2:18
that as well as in motherhood and so
2:21
that's what matters most to me serving
2:23
God my family my marriage my children
2:27
all of these things are my priority and
2:30
what matters most to me as you clean up
2:33
your home this week and as you just go
2:35
about your daily life I want to
2:37
encourage you to ask yourself in
2:39
everything that you're doing does it
2:40
align with the life that you want to
2:42
create does it reflect the home you want
2:45
to build and just invite God in helping
2:48
you figure out what your plans and
2:50
priorities are day two was to simplify
2:54
our home and remove visual clutter
2:57
because too much visual clutter can
2:59
create a s of overwhelm making our space
3:02
feel busier than it needs to be and
3:05
sometimes it also feels a lot more
3:08
smaller when there's just a lot of Decor
3:10
it's also more for us to dust more for
3:13
us to keep up with so it also takes up
3:15
more of our time take some time to just
3:17
look around and ask yourself what truly
3:20
brings warmth and purpose in your space
3:23
and what could you let go of to create
3:26
more space for me I've removed some
3:28
Decor off of my wall and some of that
3:31
was even like old family photos that
3:33
were inside of picture frames that I
3:36
wasn't a fan of I love the photos didn't
3:38
like the picture frames and I'll always
3:40
have those pictures that I can print off
3:42
of later I also got rid of some pieces
3:45
that I thrifted a few years back when I
3:47
was in my one person's trash is another
3:50
person's treasure phase when it turned
3:53
out I actually didn't treasure it that
3:55
much so I got rid of a ton of home decor
4:00
especially off of my walls even some
4:02
small changes like cleaning off surfaces
4:05
choosing meaningful pieces or just
4:07
simplifying a corner can definitely
4:09
shift the entire atmosphere of a room
4:12
day three was about choosing quality
4:14
over quantity and purchases because it's
4:18
so easy to fill our home up with things
4:21
but not everything at Value so as we
4:24
clean our homes I want us to think about
4:27
what we bring into our homes instead of
4:29
grabbing the cheapest or trendiest thing
4:32
when you actually focus on decluttering
4:35
and letting go of things and you make
4:38
this a lifestyle you make room for just
4:40
like a few of your favorite pieces when
4:43
I buy things that's like trendy at the
4:45
moment later down the line I find myself
4:48
getting rid of it because it's just not
4:50
trendy anymore and when I find myself
4:52
buying something that's cheap at the
4:55
moment later down the line I'm just
4:57
reing the same thing over and over over
4:59
and over again because it just didn't
5:01
last the same thing applies to how we
5:04
spend our time and our energy less but
5:09
better so by less things but better
5:12
things because when you think about it
5:13
it will equate to the same so let's be
5:16
intentional about what we allow in our
5:18
space as well as in our lives day four
5:23
we were tasked with reusing or
5:26
repurposing stewardship is a big part of
5:30
intentional living instead of always
5:31
looking for new things sometimes we can
5:33
just ask oursel what if we work with
5:36
what we already have it could be
5:38
repurposing like a old basket for
5:40
storage or it could just be about being
5:43
content with what we already have in our
5:46
home for me it was repurposing some old
5:48
containers I felt myself feeling like I
5:50
needed to buy more storage containers
5:52
and then I remembered okay that means
5:54
that I just have too much stuff so
5:56
instead of buying more containers I
5:58
figured out what can I let go of and get
6:00
rid of and then once I got rid of what
6:02
was inside of those containers I
6:03
repurposed them and used them for the
6:05
things that I wanted to keep so let's
6:07
try to embrace a heart of
6:09
resourcefulness and gratitude today and
6:12
figure out how can re stward the things
6:15
that we all already have day five was to
6:19
declutter our Digital Life and that
6:21
could be deleting out emails organizing
6:24
fils or setting boundaries with screen
6:26
time that is what it was for me and as
6:29
we do that try to make room for more of
6:32
what lifts us up and less of what
6:34
distracts us from what really matters
6:38
day six was to establish a family
6:41
Sabbath or rest day and that was
6:44
something that I have committed to more
6:46
recently it was always something that I
6:47
wanted to do but I didn't actually like
6:49
take it serious so now every Sunday I
6:52
don't do anything but been that time
6:54
serving the lord and spending time with
6:57
my family I don't do any work I don't do
6:59
any cleaning I just spend time with
7:00
family and God and resting and resetting
7:03
and reflecting on the previous week
7:06
preparing for the upcoming week our
7:09
world really does glorify busyness but
7:12
God designed us to work but also to rest
7:15
as well so let's try to consider setting
7:18
aside a day or even just a few
7:20
intentional hours where we just take
7:22
some time and just pause and spend time
7:24
with the Lord and spend time with our
7:27
family as well remembering the Sabbath
7:30
day as the Lord calls us to do keeping
7:32
it holy and remembering that rest isn't
7:35
lazy but it is necessary and for day
7:39
seven the last day of our challenge but
7:42
really what is just a beginning was to
7:45
set a long-term minimalism goal for our
7:48
home and our heart so in this challenge
7:52
I realized that I am truly a work in
7:55
progress it has been 30 days of
7:58
simplifying my home in my life and be
8:00
cluttering and there is still so much
8:02
more work for me to do so setting those
8:06
long-term goals was really important for
8:08
me we can just take a look at some of
8:10
the things that we've done over the past
8:12
30 days and figure out what habits we
8:13
want to keep where can we continue to
8:16
declutter and simplify our lives but
8:19
most of all just keep our hearts focused
8:21
on why we are doing this and not just
8:24
for a tidier home but for a life of
8:26
Peace purpose and faith and doing things
8:31
that truly matter spending time with the
8:33
people that matters most to us another
8:36
Bible verse to close us out Matthew 6:33
8:40
says seek first his kingdom and his
8:43
righteousness and all these things will
8:45
be given to you as well when we put God
8:49
first everything else falls into place
8:52
as well as we finish his challenge let's
8:54
not just think of it as done let's carry
8:57
these lessons forward true Simplicity
9:00
peace and purpose not just for a few
9:03
weeks not just for 30 days but as a way
9:06
of life and most of all let's invite God
9:08
into it trusting him to guide our hearts
9:12
and guide our home our home does not
9:15
have to be perfect our to-do list does
9:17
not have to be finished what matters is
9:20
the love and the care we pour into our
9:22
space and the people in it that is what
9:25
makes our house a home I hope that you
