Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney Magic Kingdom is a great way to celebrate the Halloween season and allow your little one a chance to trick-or-treat with their favorite Disney Characters. We went with our 3year-old toddler and I decided to share some inspiration, tips and fun with you all as well. This will be extremely beneficial if your planning a Disney after hour event with your little ones too! hello and welcome to my blog my name is
0:03
heaven and today we are going to be
0:05
headed to Mickey's Not So Scary
0:07
Halloween party with our three-year-old
0:09
toddler's son
0:13
[Music]
0:19
this is our very first time going to a
0:22
Halloween party inside of Disney's Magic
0:24
Kingdom so we're helping to have a lot
0:27
of fun and take you guys along with us
0:28
and show you guys what that looks like
0:30
hopefully you guys can have some fun too
0:32
or if you're planning a trip to Disney
0:34
World Magic Kingdom or planning to go to
0:37
the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween
0:38
party or one of the future Halloween
0:40
party places guys will give you some
0:41
insight on what it looks like some of
0:44
the things we can do and how much fun it
0:46
could possibly be I'm also going to be
0:48
sharing some of my tips that will be
0:50
helpful when going to the Disney parks
0:52
with a toddler so we're gonna go ahead
0:55
and we're gonna get dressed and then
0:57
we're gonna head on over to the
0:59
Halloween party once you arrive to Magic
1:02
Kingdom you park and then you head over
1:04
to the transportation center from there
1:07
you can grab a donut and a coffee from
1:09
Joffrey's coffee shop which I highly
1:11
recommend and then you choose to either
1:13
ride the ferry boat or the monorail over
1:15
to the park entrance we always choose
1:18
the fairy bow because it has this
1:20
beautiful and relaxing scenery that we
1:22
get to enjoy every time we made it
1:24
through the gates and into the parks
1:25
between 5 30 and 6 o'clock and as you
1:28
can see guests were already starting to
1:29
leave the park the Park closed at 6 PM
1:32
for those who did not have a Halloween
1:34
ticket and we didn't waste any time
1:36
going over to the castle just to get a
1:38
look at the Halloween decorations
1:40
since the Halloween party didn't begin
1:42
until seven o'clock we couldn't begin
1:45
trick-or-treating so instead we headed
1:47
over to one of Noah's favorite rides at
1:49
Magic Kingdom and that is Goofy's
1:52
Barnstormer he loves this ride and you
1:55
have to be 38 inches or taller to ride
1:57
this one so it is toddler friendly but
2:00
as you can see Noah was still holding on
2:03
for a dear life and CJ was holding on to
2:05
normal for dear life but nevertheless he
2:07
still had a great time and right next to
2:10
Goofy's Barnstormer is the Dumbo flying
2:13
elephant ride and that's another one of
2:15
Noah's favorites so we headed on over
2:17
there but first we went over to this
2:20
little area that has like a perfect
2:22
photo opportunity for you to get a
2:24
picture of your little ones inside of
2:25
the Dumbo ride so we did take advantage
2:28
of that opportunity got a few pictures
2:29
of Noah before getting onto the ride
2:31
this ride is a perfect way to get an
2:35
Overlook of Tomorrowland inside of Magic
2:37
Kingdom if you get up high enough but to
2:40
be honest I am I'm afraid of heights so
2:43
I kind of get up there but not too high
2:45
up there at this point the Halloween
2:48
party has officially started so we
2:51
didn't waste any time taking Noah over
2:53
to one of the trick-or-treat stands so
2:55
that was pretty exciting happy Halloween
2:59
right next to the candy stand was The
3:01
Little Mermaid's ride which we have
3:04
never done before so we headed on over
3:06
and got on that ride
3:10

3:27
[Music]
3:33
foreign
3:37
[Music]
3:44
and of course it wouldn't be a Halloween
3:46
celebration without a Disney villain
3:48
Ursula
3:50
[Music]
3:58
that ride was a lot of fun but now it's
4:01
time for us to get more candy so we did
4:03
that and then headed over to the Hocus
4:05
Pocus show
4:07
foreign
4:08
[Music]
4:18
[Music]
4:23
that was probably one of my top favorite
4:25
things at the Mickey's Not So Scary
4:27
Halloween party and then we went ahead
4:30
and also took a carousel break which
4:32
Noah always loves
4:34
okay I know I said that the Hocus Pocus
4:37
show was one of my top favorites but I
4:40
don't think it has this Halloween parade
4:42
beat so of course next we went ahead and
4:46
headed over to the booty Halloween
4:47
parade if going to the parades the shows
4:51
or the fireworks are most important to
4:53
you then you definitely want to grab
4:55
your favorite snacks and treats and get
4:57
a spot for this early so that you can
5:00
see all of the fun up close and personal

6:33
I gotta love those Disney villains I
6:36
absolutely cannot get enough of this
6:38
parade I believe they actually show this
6:41
parade twice during the party maybe even
6:44
three times and we definitely watched it
6:46
like one and a half times but now for
6:50
the grand finale and that is the
6:53
fireworks show so this is not the same
6:56
fireworks that they show on a normal
6:58
Park day during normal Park Day hours
7:00
but this is actually a Halloween
7:02
spectacular and it also featured Jack
7:06
Skellington which was a huge Plus in
7:09
bonus it was a lot of fun surprises

8:21
normally after the fireworks the park
8:23
closes but that's not the case for
8:25
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party
8:26
and other after hour events so once the
8:30
fireworks are done you still have a
8:31
chance to explore the rest of the parks
8:33
and get on a few different rides and
8:34
attractions so as much as we love the
8:36
parades fireworks and shows we also
8:39
enjoy everything else as well we wrote a
8:42
few things like Splash Mountain Seven
8:44
Dwarfs of Mine Train hunted Mansion got
8:47
a few snacks and treats and pretty much
8:49
just mostly enjoyed our time together
8:52
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party
8:54
was truly a lot of fun for my family and
8:58
one question that we often get when
9:00
we're planning these trips to Disney
9:01
World and going to the different types
9:03
of parties is is it worth the price tag
9:06
and for anyone who is asking me that my
9:10
personal opinion and answer is yes
9:13
absolutely and the reason for this is
9:16
because you experience shorter wait
9:19
times less crowd inside of the parks you
9:22
can pretty much do a lot more even
9:24
though the timing is a lot shorter it's
9:27
less stress the weather is more optimal
9:30
and ideal and they offer some special
9:33
experiences that you won't typically see
9:36
on a normal Park day such as exclusive
9:39
meet and greet free snacks and treats
9:42
fried overlays with live actors extra
9:46
parades and shows extra fireworks just
9:50
things that you won't normally or
9:52
typical quickly see you on a regular
9:54
Park day in our experience Disney Parks
9:57
always have something new and something
9:59
extra whenever we go but we kind of can
10:02
know what to expect what rides they have
10:05
what meet and greets they have what the
10:07
fireworks and the parades are going to
10:09
kind of look like but when you go to the
10:11
holiday parties like the Mickey's Not So
10:14
Scary Halloween party for the Very Merry
10:16
Christmas party they have other type of
10:19
meet and greets that they don't have on
10:21
a regular Park day like for instance you
10:23
were able to meet Jack and Sally at
10:25
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party
10:27
and you will not be able to meet them on
10:30
a regular Park day at the Christmas
10:32
parties you get free snacks and treats
10:35
and ice cream bars and popcorn and hot
10:38
cocoa during the entire Christmas party
10:41
and then for the Halloween party you
10:43
also get free treats and candy and
10:46
things like that so do I think it's
10:48
worth the price tag in my experience it
10:50
is you still get to arrive a little bit
10:52
earlier than when the party actually
10:54
begins and then a couple of hours after
10:57
being there most of the guests leave the
10:59
park and the way they sell the tickets
11:01
is so that there isn't an over capacity
11:06
of people in the park so they only have
11:08
a certain amount of tickets available on
11:11
each party date so that you don't have
11:13
to worry about it being too crowded or
11:15
overcrowded so I think it is worth the
11:18
price tag and would I go again
11:20
absolutely but here are my takeaways on
11:24
how to really enjoy Mickey's Not So
11:26
Scary Halloween party with your little
11:28
ones my first tip or takeaway would be
11:30
to decide what's most important to you
11:33
when going to the party snacks treats
11:36
rides experiences meet and greets
11:38
parades fireworks merchandise whatever
11:42
is most important to you going into this
11:44
party focus on those experiences for you
11:47
and your family to enjoy first and then
11:50
once that's completed you can then
11:52
decide if you want to do more or head
11:54
back to the hotel to get some rest your
11:56
little ones have gotten sleepy or cranky
11:58
or so forth but making sure that you
12:00
know what's most important to you you
12:03
won't feel like you have to get into the
12:05
parts and scramble to try and figure out
12:06
what to do and what not to do you
12:09
already have an idea of what you want to
12:11
do when you get there so that you can
12:12
also plan ahead and kind of get like a
12:15
loose schedule of what you plan to do
12:17
when you get to the party because when
12:19
you go there is a lot to do and a lot to
12:23
see it can either be overwhelming or
12:26
you'll be all over the place or you're
12:28
kind of just gonna go with the flow and
12:29
that's perfectly fine too if you're
12:31
going to flow person which I normally am
12:34
except for when I go to Disney World
12:36
then either way you're gonna be okay but
12:40
if you're one of those people who are a
12:41
stickler for schedule and you want to
12:43
know how everything is going to go you
12:44
want to plan everything out definitely
12:47
know what's most important for you
12:49
before you get there otherwise it's not
12:51
going to be a great time for you if you
12:53
are one of those people who are a
12:55
stickler for sticking to timings and
12:57
schedules because you're going to want
12:59
to have everything planned out my second
13:01
takeaway or tip is that if your little
13:02
ones have food allergies opt in for the
13:05
allergy friendly treats this way your
13:08
little ones will not be disappointed and
13:10
you won't have to worry about them
13:12
getting sick they do have allergy
13:14
friendly candies so that you don't have
13:15
to go and trick or treat at the stands
13:18
that have like the regular types of
13:19
candy which in our experience was mostly
13:22
like chocolate like Snickers Milky Ways
13:24
Starburst Skittles things like that so
13:27
if your children has any allergies to
13:30
those that I just named or just any type
13:32
of food allergies then is best and safe
13:35
to make sure that they don't miss out on
13:37
the experience or be disappointed when
13:39
you have to take away those treats for
13:41
them by just going to the allergy
13:43
friendly stations and collecting their
13:45
treats and candy from there instead this
13:47
next one I can truly resonate with and
13:49
that is if the fireworks and the parades
13:51
are most important to you or very
13:54
important to you then grab your favorite
13:56
treats or snacks and get a spot early
14:00
and when I say early I mean anywhere
14:02
from like 30 minutes to an hour before
14:04
it starts that is if you want to have a
14:06
good spot and that's one of the top
14:08
things that you're going for I always
14:11
enjoy the fireworks and the parade to me
14:14
it's like the most important experience
14:17
at the parties aside from the free
14:20
snacks and Treats of course for Noah I
14:22
think that that experience of going
14:24
trick-or-treating for the first time
14:25
inside of the Disney park was one that I
14:27
really wanted him to experience and that
14:30
I really wanted to be able to experience
14:32
with him CJ and I as a family because
14:34
Noah has never been trick-or-treating
14:36
before and we thought that Disney World
14:38
would be the perfect place to do so we
14:40
don't typically do it here at home we
14:42
don't typically like go house to house
14:44
we normally celebrate inside making it
14:47
more of a way to celebrate like the fall
14:49
season and the Harvest and thank God for
14:52
like the food and the Harvest and the
14:54
season and things like that having him
14:56
enjoy that experience at Disney World
14:59
with all of his favorite characters and
15:02
to be able to dress up as like a Mickey
15:03
pumpkin I think that he enjoyed that a
15:06
lot and so that was really important to
15:08
us and for me it was probably also like
15:12
the parade and the fireworks and then
15:13
for CJ it was probably the right so we
15:17
pretty much was like
15:19
everything everything is important for
15:22
us and you'll run into that you know as
15:24
a family or traveling in a group but
15:27
what CJ and I did when we were at the
15:31
party is that I went and got us a spot
15:34
for the parade while he went and grabbed
15:37
our treats in our snacks and he came
15:39
back and joined me now this can be
15:41
difficult like if it's a huge crowd and
15:44
you're trying to like find your group
15:46
but again at the Halloween party or even
15:49
the Christmas party the crowds are so
15:51
low that you might not even have to
15:53
fight for a spot you know for a spot to
15:57
see you can typically see wherever you
15:59
stand because the crowd in our
16:00
experience was pretty low although we
16:03
did go like right after the hurricane
16:04
hurricane in but even when we did the
16:07
Christmas party it was the same thing
16:09
you weren't like stuck to each other
16:11
like glue the crowd wasn't crazy and
16:13
pretty much whatever we said we had a
16:15
pretty good site of where to see like
16:18
the fireworks the parade was a different
16:20
story so again if that's important to
16:22
you definitely get a spot to see the
16:24
parade early and especially if you have
16:26
little ones who aren't going to be able
16:28
to see from the back and that's
16:29
something that's important for them to
16:30
be able to see and interact with all of
16:32
the characters but yes that is something
16:35
that I absolutely always love I love
16:38
those parades I love the fireworks it's
16:40
always so much fun and so I like to get
16:44
a good spot I don't want to make the
16:46
experience bad from not being able to
16:48
see or from being overcrowded with
16:51
people like you know crowding and
16:53
smushing Us in or having to lift Noah up
16:57
on our shoulders and now our shoulders
16:58
our neck and our back is hurting
16:59
afterwards so if you're anything like me
17:02
then definitely you know get your
17:05
favorite treats and your favorite snacks
17:07
get some ice cream or some churros do
17:09
whatever you like and have a seat and
17:12
rest do whatever you want to do before
17:13
that you know get all of those things
17:15
out that's going to make you exhausted
17:17
so then you even have a reason to want
17:19
to sit down down and just enjoy a snack
17:21
for a minute my next takeaway is I
17:23
recommend eating before you go to the
17:25
party so Christmas party Halloween party
17:28
after events parties any things like
17:31
that I recommend you eat before you go
17:33
Some people prefer to eat when they get
17:35
there like some people will go when they
17:37
open up to like the party guest which is
17:40
probably typically around five o'clock
17:42
for the Halloween party it didn't start
17:44
until seven but you could get there as
17:46
early as five o'clock and so some people
17:48
will get there at five o'clock and while
17:50
the crowds are still heavy they would
17:51
have dinner inside of the park and then
17:54
at seven o'clock they will go and enjoy
17:56
like all of the you know Halloween
17:58
things in our experience that's not what
18:00
we did we ate before we went because
18:02
sometimes those are the ones depending
18:04
on when their bedtime is they're going
18:06
to want to go to sleep they're going to
18:07
get exhausted and so when you head back
18:10
to your room you know obviously it's
18:12
gonna be too late for you to try and
18:13
have dinner and then try to find dinner
18:16
in the Parks you might miss out on some
18:18
of the experiences that you to do it may
18:20
be just a little bit too late
18:23
um so I just recommend that it's best to
18:25
just do so before you go into the parts
18:27
that way you have more time to do more
18:29
things and that's just one last thing
18:31
for you to stress and worry about less
18:32
money for you to spend when you're there
18:34
you can focus on doing all the things
18:36
that you would rather be doing my next
18:37
takeaway is for the little ones who have
18:40
like a bad time the ones that kind of
18:43
get cranky at the same time every day if
18:45
they aren't in bed if your little one is
18:48
used to going to sleep at eight o'clock
18:49
or nine o'clock and the party doesn't
18:51
start until seven I highly recommend
18:53
that you eat dinner and then you head
18:55
there you know at whatever time they
18:57
allow you in for the Halloween party it
18:59
was five o'clock and then get those
19:02
important things out of the way before
19:04
then for instance Google the parade or
19:07
the shows or the rides that you want to
19:10
do the meet and greets do all of that
19:12
before that time that you know that your
19:14
little One's Gonna Get tired and then
19:16
once your little one is tired you can
19:18
focus on doing more like the sit down
19:20
rides you know like the indoor
19:22
experiences Like Pirates of the
19:24
Caribbean are just going to like some of
19:26
the shows things like that where if your
19:29
little one does follow faith and they
19:30
won't miss out on anything and if they
19:32
get a little cranky to where you have to
19:34
leave the park then you won't miss out
19:36
on anything either some people will not
19:39
do these parties because of the simple
19:41
fact that their children are going to
19:42
sleep for most of the time being if the
19:44
party isn't over until midnight and the
19:46
little one is going to sleep at eight
19:48
o'clock or nine o'clock and they'll feel
19:49
like they're wasting their time and
19:50
money and then for others it's okay
19:52
because then you can do certain things
19:54
like for instance ride or swap if it's
19:56
just you one other person and your child
19:59
then Rider swap is optimal and those
20:02
little ones are asleep because then you
20:04
don't have to worry about one person
20:06
taking care of the little ones while the
20:08
other person is going on the ride you
20:10
can kind of just you know focus on those
20:12
things that are more tailored to the
20:13
adults I think that the little Insanity
20:15
can't get on but I completely understand
20:17
those who just would rather not go at
20:19
all because I mean me too if I know
20:22
mother was going to be cranky and sleepy
20:24
at nine o'clock I probably wouldn't go
20:25
to the Halloween party either because I
20:27
don't want it to not be a great time for
20:29
them I don't want it to not be a great
20:31
time for me but in our experience I'm
20:33
almost bedtime is kind of flexible as I
20:35
mentioned earlier in the video I'm not a
20:37
stickler for schedules my little one he
20:40
gets his 8 to 12 hours of sleep every
20:42
night it's typically 10 to 12 hours
20:44
actually and then he'll still throw in
20:46
an extra two-hour nap and so just
20:48
depending on what time he goes to sleep
20:49
and what time he gets in the morning we
20:51
can kind of be a little bit flexible
20:52
with our schedule and that's completely
20:54
fine with me by the end of the night and
20:56
it was definitely exhausted and he was
20:58
tired he was passed out but the time
21:01
that he did enjoy he really did enjoy it
21:04
and when we got back to the room we were
21:06
able to quickly wash him up and put him
21:08
in the bed and he slept for you know 10
21:10
hours because we didn't have anything
21:12
planned the next morning so make it make
21:15
sense for your family and your situation
21:17
my next Dipper takeaway is to make sure
21:19
that you choose comfortable costumes
21:22
there are so many adorable and cute
21:25
costumes for the little ones and even
21:27
for their dots too adults dress up as
21:30
well but just check the weather in
21:32
advance and make sure that you have rain
21:34
gear and comfortable Footwear at no
21:36
matter what you can even wear a
21:39
comfortable Disney themed outfit such as
21:42
shorts jogger and a t-shirt or something
21:44
similar to that for maximum Comfort or
21:48
there are some comfortable costumes you
21:51
just have to find one that is Florida
21:53
weather friendly and I think that it'll
21:56
you know just make you enjoy the time
21:58
being there more but nobody wants to be
22:00
uncomfortable five to eight hours nobody
22:03
wants to do that you don't want to be
22:04
trying to get on the rides and you can't
22:07
because of whatever costume you're
22:09
wearing you don't want your little ones
22:10
cranky because they're hot and very
22:12
uncomfortable so try to find like a
22:14
costume that's very comfortable one that
22:16
you're not going to be too hot in or
22:18
even too code in and most importantly
22:21
just have fun because that is what
22:24
you're there for don't stress too much
22:26
over the planning and whatnot while it
22:29
is very helpful to have a plan and plan
22:31
in advance you don't want to be too
22:34
strict because there are things that you
22:36
may not even be aware of until you get
22:38
there in the park and you don't want to
22:40
miss out on those possibilities by
22:43
focusing too much on the schedule that
22:45
you created leave a little bit of time
22:47
in your schedule to be flexible to
22:49
venture off from your schedule and do
22:51
something that you didn't know they were
22:52
going to have and enjoy something that
22:54
you didn't know you would be able to
22:56
enjoy or to just have a little bit of
22:59
time for like things that might pop up
23:01
that you weren't aware of like rest
23:03
breaks or food and snack breaks that you
23:05
didn't know that they were going to hide
23:06
when you saw something or you smelt
23:08
something and now you want it or a
23:10
character meet and greets and just
23:11
things like that make sure that you're a
23:13
bit flexible in your schedule so that
23:15
you can kind of just have fun the most
23:17
important thing is to just enjoy enjoy
23:19
your family and make memorable moments
23:22
together so those are my top takeaways
23:25
would I do it again absolutely time and
23:28
time again I hope this video was able to
23:30
provide you with some inspiration and
23:32
enjoyment for the holiday season and any
23:34
future Disney trip that you're planning
23:36

23:39
